Hi, it seems your experiencing a overheat issue. At least one fan inside your PC has stopped working. The PC monitors internal heat, when the PC reaches a certain temperature it will shut down & or freeze. Chances are it's the CPU fan.

this may caused by hard disk problem. first remove (disconnect) hard disk. then try to enter bios setup. if the problem persist, find a jumper clip named 'bios reset' in mother board near front panel connectors. the default jumper position is 1and 2. now change the clip into 2and3 - power on - wait 5 seconds - power off - reset jumper to 1and2- thats all connect hard disk- check again the bios setting.

My toshiba equium A110-233 malfunction

try removing the battery and power adapter for a few minutes then plug in just the power adapter and boot up. then shut all down and put in battery and adapter and see if that helps.

I ve formated my Toshiba Equium M40X-103 and on start up i can't see the display. i'm guessing i need to download some drivers but how can i instal without any display?

Attach an external monitor. Even without drivers the lcd should at least lite up with post info If in hibernate mode holding down backspace when power up sometimes works. My guess is if the cover open switch is ok and you still see nothing it may be the lcd inverter or the fl tube, Also look very close at the screen from a slight angle if you see stuff it is one of the above problems gl

Want to wipe hard drive on dell dimension 8250

You don't need a recovery cd (or any other cd) to wipe the hard drive. Boot to a command prompt and type "format c:"

Reinstalling your operating system is the only time you need a recovery cd. If you have no way to reinstall your operating system, don't wipe the hard drive.

Equium M40X gets overheated

this is a laptop computer?

THis is probably a simple heating problem. if it is, you'll have to replace or otherwise repair the heatsink, and maybe the CPU as well.

In general, if this is still under warranty, your best bet is probably to just return it to toshiba for repair/replacement.

I would NOT reccomend opening the case on an in-warranty laptop.

However, in case this ISN'T a heating problem, or if you need a temporary workaround... these ideas MIGHT work. they won't be permanent solutions, though.

1. try setting your bios, and your windows settings, to the options that use the least power.  less power = less heat.

2. If you deliberatly overclocked your cpu at some point, reset it to normal speed. or even less-then-normal speed.

3.  are you certain this isn't just a power problem, or a corrupt operating system?  you might want to try reinstalling the os, and running the computer from an AC outlet, maybe even with the battery removed

Wireless switch

Make sure you have the latest drivers, router and NB.

Does it connect on reboot with the SSID off?

Does it work on repair?

if so, check your energy settings, some times they power down the wireless to save energy. There are also settings on how it behaves.

HELP

I would check the Ram and CPU. If you can swap the ram you have with good ram, or if you have more than one stick of ram in there take one out at a time to see if thats the problem. Next go into bios and check the CPU temperature after you have been running your computer for a while. The problem with diagnosing this problem is how much time in between freezes. 18 times in 6 months makes it hard to diagnose, because you won't know if you fixed the problem unless it freezes again after you changed something, and even if it does freeze again it could be because of an entirely different problem.
