My Hunter thermostat that controls both my air conditioner and heating system worked fine for a couple of years. Then the date and time started getting out of whack. I replaced the batteries..problem still exists. What should I do?

If the Hunter thermostat is 3 year old or more you will need to replace the thermostat. I have serviced HVAC systems for 20 years and see this problem all the time with hunter thermostats.

After a couple years of service, my Dell XPS One has started to have a fan problem. The fan starts going on and off, repeatedly after the computer heats up.

things you can try include using canned air to cleanout the air intakes/exhaust of the cooling system, and download and flash the BIOS with the latest revision (Support.dell.com)
If no change and the system's performance is not decreasing then it is just the thermostat starting and stopping the fan based on temps.
If the system is having a decrease in performance, then removal/cleaning of the heatsink and fam may be required and and new thermal grease (Arctic Silver is recommended) applied

I have dell inspiron 6000 laptop. The laptop keyboard got locked. I can't use the keyboard and if press any key..it works for the function key. On the laptop, the light with lock symbol (9) is on.

When you turn on the laptop, just before Windows starts to load tap the F8 key a couple of times. If you get a menu, choose Last Known Good.

If that does not do it, and the mouse still works fine, go to Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools and run System Restore.

Choose a date from before the keyboard problem and let it reboot. Should solve the problem.

Just bought an acer aspire ax1200-b1581a.it worked fine for a few days now it will pop up there was a problem with the internet and shut the itnernet down,it started out going blue screen and at the bottom...

I think the problem is related to virus. Try restoring your PC to an earlier date 9 a date when it worked fine). You do this from Start-> Programs -> Accesories -> System Tools -> System Restore. Select
Restore my computer to an earlier time and Click Next. A date calender will appear, select the preferred date and click Next twice. The system will automatically restart when restoration is done.

If u are not abe to run System Restore then you need to enter safe mode by pressing F8 during booting and selecting Safe Mode from the menu that appears. In safe mode you will be asked a question, you have to select no, and system restore will start

If restoring your pc does not solve the problem then you may need to reinstall your OS.

Dear reader; I bought hunting unlimited 2008, its been playing fine, today I went to play it and I can't seem to get it playing

You may restore you system to a previous date. Choose the date when it was working fine. Just go back a day or 2.

Steps
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System restore>Restore to Earlier date.

When you restore to a particular date. the softwares loaded after that particular date wont be there. So be careful and dont go too far back.

Hope this will help

Sammy

My computer went back to older clock date as 1610

try starting your computer in safe mode and see if you can do anything productive there, like scanning for viruses or spyware. also check if you can do the following:
CTRL+ALT+DEL (open task manager)
goto Start>Run>Regedit (open registry editor)
goto Start>Control Panel>Display>Properties (change display settings)
right click on clock at tray and change the current time to correct settings

if you cannot do any of these activities, then your computer may probably been compromised by a virus or malware.
