When I change channels it seems to take a while before the picture comes on. The sound and info are there but it seems to take a bit for the picture to appear whenever I change a channel

Hello, it sounds like your inverter board is goin out on the set, when you change channels if you notice on almost any TV the screen goes dark and the new channel appears, it sounds like you are not getting enough power out of the inverter board to power up the backlight enough to come on. This is why the sound remains because everything else works fine and the sound is connected to the main board.
your tv set have a problem in the horizontal section of the board.have sound but no picture or no raster.contact your service tv technician to check your tv set.......anime'
Hi Barb,
Unfortunatly the problem you are asking about is a normal happening in our area with customers of mine that use rabbit ear or house mounted antennas ( Normally not cable or satellite dish). This problem sounds to me like a lack of signal strength on certain channels where your loosing your sound. Since your LCD TV is digital it requires a bit more signal strength to produce sound and picture. Maybe a better antenna, or redirection the antenna toward the station transmitter. Hope this helps.

Sounds like the PLL IC or the tuner maybe going bad??. You didnt say that by NO picture NO sound, is there any light on the screen at all?? You said when you change channels it comes back alive for a bit.? This is the indication that its a tuner or related circuit problem . Now first off +these sets do not have any user serviceable parts inside them as they are all solid state and soldered in and then you also have to deal with the HI Voltage saftey issues. This is not a reapir You should attempt to do on your own as a pro should assist you in this repair. Good Luck
when you say flickering??? are you saying the screen goes black and comes back on?? does the sound go out at the same time and comes bag on with the pic ? Is the sound there when this happens but is distorted. Is the pic blacked out or is it greying out with lines and twisting?? Need more info please as if its blacking out and the sound goes with it it may be going into shutdown. If the pic is getting kinda greyish with it twisting and the sound is there and ditorted then the tuner could be bad
