Never a good sign sorry!

Sounds like the light engine is going bad...that's why they stopped making these rear projection sets using LCD's. Costs almost as much as a new set! But get a second opinion before trashing it.

I have small blue dots and a yellow shadow in the middle of my screen

The model indicated uses what is called a Optical Light Engine, it is a very expensive part and likely is your problem---not much else will cause this trouble.

Let me know if you have questions.

Blue dots increasing on Screen.

Defective light engine. I would start looking into a new set. Most DLP mfg's have stopped production because of new technology and high failure rate of the light engines. It's not worth the investment.....Sorry!

Blue dots on LCD screen

You will most likely need to replace the panel. You will have to contact Sony and they will send a Factory Trained Technician to your home to replace it. Since you are not on Factory Warranty this repair will cost you. You may find it cheaper just to replace the television.
