How to Connect a Phone Using Bluetooth With a Laptop

By using Bluetooth technology, you can send files from your phone to your PC without the use of wires, SD cards or memory sticks. Many newer laptops have Bluetooth connectivity, but some models do not. You can make these laptops Bluetooth-enabled with the use of an external Bluetooth device called a Bluetooth dongle. This is a USB stick used to enable Bluetooth on your laptop, as long as it's plugged in.

Instructions

Pairing the Devices

Switch your laptop and cell phone on.

Go to your phone's main menu and enable Bluetooth. Depending on the model of your cell phone, your Bluetooth options may be listed under connections, settings, tools or extras.

Insert the Bluetooth Dongle into the USB port on your laptop. A dialogue bubble will pop up once your computer recognizes the device. Do not close this dialogue bubble until the device has been fully installed. Once it has, you will see the words "Installation Complete."

Go to the Start menu, then select "Control Panel." From here, open up "Network in Internet."

Choose "Set up a Bluetooth-enabled device," then click "Add." After this, select "My device is set up and ready to be found."

Find the name of your phone and click "Next." At this time, you will be asked to give a passkey. The passkey will have been supplied by the manufacturer of your Bluetooth dongle. Enter this same passkey on your cell phone. (You can use the Default code which 0000)

File Sharing

Right-click the file on your computer that you want to send to your phone.

Select "Send To" and then select "Bluetooth Device." A box will pop up asking you to select the name of the device from the list provided. From here, you will select the name of your cell phone.

Click "Next" or "Continue." The file will begin to transfer.

Accept the file transfer on your cell phone.

Hope it helped.

Thanks for using fixya...

How do I get my pics from my phone memory to the card so i can download them or how can I donwload the photos from my phone memory?

You could send the pictures from the phone to your computer through Bluetooth. If your computer doesn't have Bluetooth you can add it a dollar.
USB Bluetooth module:http://cgi.ebay.com/Wireless-USB-2-0-Tiny-Bluetooth-V2-0-EDR-Dongle-Adapter-/250636804218?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a5b1e207a#ht_3769wt_952
Once your computer has Bluetooth, just add the phone to the computer's "Bluetooth devices" and then from the phone select all the pictures, hit menu, and select send to Bluetooth, then select your computer.

Cant send pictures to pc

Easiest way is to get a bluetooth dongle [really cheap!], load to pc , and use dongle to find Moto. I find they work much better than onboard bluetooth units in most pc's . About $20.00 Australian dollars , so much cheaper in the rest of the world!! Hope this helps... Cheerds

I just got a samsung j750 but am dissapointed because there was no usb included to connect to the computer, i have tried using a bluetooth piece for the computer to send music and videos to my phone but is...

If you really want to use bluetooth keep well away from cheap bluetooth dongles. They, at best, work 10% of the time.
I suggest you invest in a EZURiO or the D-Link DBT-120 dongles.
I have a bucket full of cheap chinese dongles. The only one's that work with any consistency are those two.

USB bluetooth dongles are widely available in computer stores. Your computer becomes visible as a bluetooth deviced and you simply send pictures or other files to and from as you would from phone to phone. Cheap, simple and effective!!
