there is nothing concerned to hardware as the games were running smoothly before ..

it will work if i re install the win xp sp2 again ..

    but i don't want to ..

the games is must work :

    battlefield 2
    Cossacks back to war
    the settlers IV

i already did a scan of viruses and spyware and removed them .

then the game "the settlers IV" then back to work but there is black boxes appears in front of game screen and i can't remove them .

i have win xp service pack 2
graphic is Nvidia GeForce 8500 from pny ..

the battle field was working before on same system smoothly ..

i also tried to update to sp3 and same happen ..

here the screen shot of error on cossacks back to war

i think the problem should be in direct x ..

Thanks for the background info, now I need you to get into computer management - and from there event viewer.

right click on my computer, select manage, then on the left side click on event viewer, then select sub menu, system, check for any red flags (! points) and warnings, then also check the APPLICATIONS logs, if you find specific errors with details about each game please post them to me here.

also, if you open DXdiag, which version of direct x is installed? Include x,xx version number and also the numbers inside "closed doors" (x.xx.xxxx.xxxx)

Also another thing I need you to check, press start, control panel, add or remove programs, do you see microsoft visual c++ or VC++ or C++ 2005 or 2008 or related installed? how about net framework 2?

  • Vanyo Marketing Inc May 13, 2010

  • Ekse May 13, 2010

On the system TAB of the Direct x diagnostic tool, on the bottom the direct x version, well, could you take another screenshot of the SYSTEM TAB of that utility? thanks.

Also, your drivers seem out dated, get the latest ones here. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_197.4...

  • Vanyo Marketing Inc May 13, 2010

    here ..

  • Ekse May 13, 2010

Update your display drivers from the link I gave you. Also I see you have Direct X 10 installed on windows xp.

Windows xp and direct x official ends at 9. Installing direct x 10 from a unofficial (not from microsoft) May cause problem, uninstall direct x 10.

  • Vanyo Marketing Inc May 13, 2010

i will try first updating driver of nvidia

I can't install AUTOCAD 2009 in my windows XP computer. It asks to install direct 3D

Most probably your hardware ie graphic card do not support software requirements.

Autocad 2009 system requirements for Win XP.
32-bit AutoCAD 2009
Running under Windows XP:
•Microsoft Windows XP SP2 operating system
•Intel® Pentium® 4 processor or AMD Athlon®, 2.2 GHz or greater

•1 GB RAM
•750 MB free hard disk space for installation
•1024x768 VGA with true color
•Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 (SP1 or higher)
If you are using AutoCAD for 3D modeling, you should bump up your system as follows:
•Intel Pentium 4 processor or AMD Athlon, 3.0 GHz or greater
or
Intel or AMD Dual Core processor, 2.0 GHz or greater
•2 GB RAM or greater

Video card ID incorrect

It's part of your windows system, i think you are using Windows XP SP2 Edition. And your DirectX is 9.0 or 10.0 version.

This Graphics design is have a hidden memory or times two capacity to run in your system. It will activate when you are installing Microsoft.net framework 2.0 or 3.0 (dotnefx).

Don't worry much better that this VGA card help you a lot driving some programs or games that are using high resolution.

Hope this info might help you a lot.

Good luck!

C language is not running in full screen mode

Windows Vista takes away a lot of support and convenience for the sheer attractive of flashy user interface. One major feature is the ability of open full screen window for command prompt shell in Windows Vista. When you attempt open or run DOS .com applications, .bat batch scripts or games that relies on command prompt, and including cmd.exe itself, you will encounter the following error message:
This system does not support fullscreen mode. Choose “Close” to terminate the application.
The lack of support for full screen DOS command prompt in Windows Vista is a big annoyance especially for those who still playing games for DOS and Windows 3.1/9x era, use legacy software such as WPDOS or programmers who frequently switch to command prompt to use DOS based programming language such as PASCAL.
There is no simple solution to this no support for full screen window in Windows Vista. In almost all possible workarounds, you are almost guaranteed that your Vista will be broken in some way, at least on the part on Windows Aero. You will lose the nice Aero Glass interface if you attempt any of these trick, plus other unknown side effects.
Workaround to Run or Open Full Screen Window Mode
Workaround 1: Use XDDM driver instead of WDDM driver for video graphics adapter
In another word, install the Windows XP video card driver for use in Vista. If the video graphics card hardware supports Windows XP driver, you can download the Windows XP driver for your video hardware and install it under Vista. However, be warned that using XP driver on display adapter may crash your Vista system randomly, so save your works before proceeding and use with care.
Note: This solution has been recommended by Microsoft in KB926657.
To install a Windows XP video driver under Vista, just follow the procedure listed in the guide below. The steps should work for both NVIDIA and ATI video graphics accelerator card.
Download the Windows XP driver installer for your graphics card from NVIDIA or ATI. Run the installation setup program just downloaded. Confirm any User Account Control permission warning when prompted. The installer will first extract and unpack the files required by installation to proceed to a folder/directory. Note down the path to the folder. For ATI, the folder for these installation files usually located in a directory with a name that resembles C:\ATI\SUPPORT\7-5_xp_dd_46743\Driver or C:\ATI\SUPPORT\7-5_xp_dd_ccc_wdm_46743\Driver, with the only different been the number to indicate the version and build number of the driver

Install Win XP SP 2

Yes you can, Do I recomend it, no, Why?

Windows easily uses up to 756MB of RAM to run the O/S alone but can run at a minimum of 512MB.

I have personally seen it run on as low as a 900Mhz processor, 256MB of RAM and on a 10 gig hard drive.

If you decide to install windows XP on the specs you describe above please note the following.

1. System will be very slow and have lengthy start up times.

2. Applications may crash or take a long time to open.

3. With all the updates for WinXP you will easily use 8 gigs for installing XP and its updates. Not to mention whatever software you will use/install.

4. On a system with those low specs, you probably have a low end video card whcih may result in: A. chooppy windows, screen freezing, system crashes and lock ups, low video graphics all around.

I would probably go with windows 2000 instead. If your bent on having XP, at least upgrade the RAM to as much as possible. Then install windows and only install the programs you really need, remove any other junk.

Hope this is of some help to you, good luck

Too slow

the only way to improve graphics is to upgrade your graphics card and ensure that you have enough system memory and proccesor power to run the game as it should do. If you have a 32MB or 64MB card then maybe you should go for atleast 128MB
