My batteries died in my remote i replaced them and it will turn the tv off and on but wil not change the channels, i don't know the code? Dish tv receiver # 311

Hello hogan_cindy, my name is Michael Hurst with DISHNetwork. I see that you replaced the batteries in your remote and now you'renot able to change the channels. Sounds like the remote needs to be programmedto the receiver. You would have to access the menu of the receiver. There are 2ways to access the menu. You can pull the smart card out of the receiver andleave it out until System Information comes on the TV screen. The otheroption that you have is to power the receiver off and then press the up channelbutton and System Information will come on the screen. Once you havethis on the screen press and hold the Sat button on the remote until all thelights on the top of the remote turn red. Release the Sat button andpick a number from 1-15. Then press the # button and then the recordbutton (located above number 3). The number in the Remote Address shouldchange. If the Remote Address doesn't change unplug the receiver for 10 secondsfrom power outlet and plug it back in. Do the same steps. Once the remote isprogrammed then exit out of the menu screens.
