Question about Champion International Garden
I have a cub cadet lt1045 that i bought new in 07. the belt has always come off almost every time i use it. is there a way to fix this.
There is a "tension"spring that hooks to the tension pulley and to the mower deck frame that kept coming loose wich resulted in slinging the belt off almost every time,I used bailing wire to keep the spring in place and it worked.any other questions contact me at dgideon72@yahoo .com

The stock settings on this tractor are awful, I ended up chopping the spring down and then using a propane torch I heated it up to make another bend at the end, this added tension. I then also had to adjust the angle that the tensioning bogey, or pulley, spun at. I believe I bent the piece of flatbar metal it rides on to change the angle so that it is lined up better with the p.t.o pulley. Loooots of trial and error.
If you have the snowplow accessory as well I found that I had to tighten the tension all the way on that as well to stop it from folding under a minor amount of snow, now I can take a run at a drift and push it without the blade caving under.

FINAL SOLUTION TO FIX THE BELT FROM COMING OFF LT1045 WHILE MOWING!
I also had this issue with my LT1045 belt. However, I just figured out how to finally fix / re-engineer my LT1045 Cub Cadet from having issues with the belt coming off of the deck while mowing.
Taking it back into a shop for repairs will not work, the belt will just come off again the first time you mow. I am making a YouTube Video to help others like me with this mower issue and will post a link here soon showing how to fix this design flaw.
It took me about an hour to fix but I've got it working now with no problems, minimum vibrations and belt is running cool now! I've gone for 2 months with no problems now. Check back soon for the link!! I expect I will have the video tutorial finished within a week!!
If you for some reason you cant
