The only way to get down to the bottom of this is to get yourself the necessary fittings and high pressure gauge so you can read what the line pressure is while the trigger is released and applied.
You have to get down to the source, find out what it is.
Could be a bad pump, bypass valve, debris inside trigger, or spray tip is worn out or is too big for the unit it has been attached too (not enough GPM).

Intermitant sound on playback. I have manually cleaned audio heads which did improve audio, Machine initally did report "use head cleaner"

Hi Graham92. Read this through a couple of times, sorry it's a bit long-winded.

This may sound a bit strange but the Video Heads on the drum may be causing the sound to cut in and out. The reason for this is the audio circuit requires a clean signal, (good constant picture) from the Video drum heads. Most VCR's have an audio mute when a bad bit of tape passes through the mechanism to stop loud noises from passing to your speakers, TV, Hi-Fi etc. It sounds like you have taken the unit apart before so i suggest cleaning the rotating video head.

Unplug the VCR, locate the heads, usually under a metal lid. The drum is titled on a slant and has 2 heads-VHS or 4 heads-S-VHS which are visibe as a small horizontal slot, (3 mm approx) on the side of the drum. The way i suggest to clean these heads is to use a piece of flat, thin card about the size of a postage stamp, and some cleaning solution (alcohol based). Apply a little solution to one side of the flat card and apply the flat of the card with your finger to the side of the drum with light pressure. Do not press hard as this will break the pick-up coil on the head. Rotate the drum, as you do this you should be able to feel the heads through the card to your finger, this is good. Continue to rotate the drum for 5 complete revolutions. Inspect the card for any sign of dirt. Repeat proceedure if neccessary until no sign of dirt remains. Reassemble unit and test with a new pre-recorded cassette. If all goes well, test with the Cassette that you noticed the sound fault with, ensuring that this cassette is in good condition. Hope this helps you out. Post your resutls back and good luck.

Our Hitachi MX818E VCR is suddenly not playing videos. We can hear the sound however. We do not have the user manual anymore. Thank you, Ann

a common problem is rental videos that have been damaged in the first few feet of the tape by some other vcr's defective drive mechanism that "eats"the tape..What happens is the particles of the damaged tape clog the video heads in your machine, which have gaps in the millionths of an inch.Put a brand new tape in the machine and let it play for a half hour or so and it will usually clear itself. If that does not do it,insert a head clening tape and a couple drops of cleaning fluid and run it through. The newer machines will show a blue screen if there is no video information present. However,if you put it on forward search,it overrides that feature and you will see a snowy picture from a good tape,if one video head is clogged and the other is working. There are 2 video heads on a rotating head.it spins at 1800rpm and that is the whirring sound you hear when play is pressed. If both heads are clogged, you will see a snowy screen and no picture at all.A 4 head machine has 2 heads for slp or 2 hour speed and the other 2 heads are used for lp and slp.A hifi vcr has 2 more heads, which are used for the hifi audio,a total of 6 heads. The stationary playback head has a control signal for tape speed, and regular audio, mono or stereo.

Hi, (MX850) My blue ink has stopped printing. I

Performing Maintenance:

Note :
Be sure to install the ink tanks in the correct order indicated by the label on the Print Head Holder. The machine will not print if an ink tank is installed in the incorrect position.
Step 1
Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern.

If lines are missing or if white streaks appear

Step 2
Print Head Cleaning.

If the problem is not resolved after performing Print Head Cleaning twice

After cleaning the Print Head, print and examine the nozzle check pattern (Step 1) again.

Step 3
Print Head Deep Cleaning.

If Print Head Deep Cleaning does not resolve the problem, turn off the machine and perform another Print Head Deep Cleaning after 24 hours. If the problem is still not resolved and if you are sure that the ink didn't run out, then the Print Head may be damaged. Contact your Canon service representative.

Hope this helps.
All the best.

Yellow cartridge stopped workin halfway through a document although nearly full

Hi, one or two head cleans won't clear a badly clogged nozzle. Try doing 4 or 5 head cleans, wait about 10 hours for the ink to soften and do another 3 or 4 cleans with a nozzle check after each. You should see a gradual improvement in the nozzle checks. If there is no improvement then you need a head cleaning solution such as this one:
http://www.powerklin.co.uk/?gclid=CNGDypir-JgCFQ4yQgodZlC4lw
Others are available just try googling "inkjet head cleaning".
Note that head cleaning uses between 5 and ten percent of your ink cart's, if any are low on ink have some new ones ready. Hope this helps.
Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

HORIZONTAL BANDING IN MY PRINTS

OK Guest - I'm sorry you aren't prepared to respond, so here's the best I can do without it.

Have you tried a cleaning cycle? If not, try one (right click the little printer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select head clean). Now run a nozzle check (right click the little printer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select nozzle check). Is there any sign of ink on the paper. Try up to three cleaning cycles. If ink is now flowing, but not yet perfectly, don't carry out any more cleaning cycles. Just leave the printer for 24 hours (to allow any air in the print head to disperse). Then repeat the cleaning cycle/wait process. It may take a while to restore a perfect nozzle check print.

If you have already done lots of head cleans with no result, and you're sure you have good ink cartridges properly installed, then you can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head by hand over to the left hand side out of the way. Look inside the print head parking area on the right and you will see a small rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head fully into its parking position so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then try a head clean/nozzle check again. If still nothing, post a new comment detailing what you have done and the results.

Sharp VCR fault

The video head probably needs cleaning. Remove the top cover, and using a lint free cloth (like maybe a dishtowel) moistened by a bit of rubbing alcohol, or a specific for head cleaning product, clean the rotating head carefully. This head is about 1.75 inch diameter and sits toward the back of the VCR mechanism. It is motor driven and will rotate at a carefully regulated speed when a tape is inserted.

Note: Most late VCRs state they have an automatic head clean feature, but it doesn't always get everything, especially if you have a tape that is loosing oxide badly.

If you haven't cleaned the video head yet this should be the next step. Get the proper video head cleaning swabs and cleaning solution (usually 100% alcohol or electrical contact cleaner) and open the video tape cassette compartment door. The video drum is the large rotating drum near the bottom of the cassette compartment. Being very careful, (never go up and down (vertically) on the drum), clean the head paying particular attention to the location where the rotating and non-rotating parts meet (that is where the actual video head assemblies are). Also clean the audio/CTL head, capstan, pinch roller and tape guides while you're in there. Give it a test and see if this has solved the problem. If it did not try the following. If you are handy with tools, have a set of jewelers screwdrivers (they can be purchased also and are fairly cheap), a set of magnifying glasses and lots of patience use the screwdrivers to remove the cases of the camcorder. When you get the cases off look for ribbon cables which are loose or out of their connectors. If you don't find any you probably have a problem which is beyond your repair capabilities and you will need to take it to a reputable repair facility. Good luck.
