GE Dryer model DSXH47 keeps shutting off after about 30 seconds
GE Dryer model DSXH47 I have the above mentioned dryer, it is about 2-2.5 years old (of course, it's out of the warranty period). It has been beeping a code lately, and I believe it is code 6. I took the dryer apart and got the repair technician diagnostic sheet out of it. That code says it is a button stuck. I enter into the test mode and the dryer will spin, get hot, and work just like it should. I do the button test and the dryness selector button doesn't work. I have had the control panel apart and the button seems to work fine. I tested all the buttons with a multimeter and they all read about the same and the reading changes when I press them. I am about ready to destroy this stupid dryer. I feel it should in no way have any problems after this short of a time. The dryer is not overused as it is just my wife and I, no kids. Our laundry amount is minimal.

Did you check the door switch. If it is open (not making contact) the machine will not run. Could be the motor start/run switch which could be stuck with lint (clean it) or worn out ( replace the motor).
I just fixed that problem with mine. I tried many, many things. Final solution was vacumming out the holes in the rear of the drier. (Prior to that, I removed the lint filter and holder, checked all connections and vacummed out that area. I unplugged the vent hose to confirm there was no cluggs. I found resetting the breaker would work for about a half hour.) Just vacum out the rear of the dry. Not only will the beeping stop, but as an added bonus, you cloths will dry much faster!!!
Hi, It sounds like the coils on top the gas valve are bad. If the ignitor glows but shuts off before a flame, the coils need changed. I hope this helps. If I can assist you further, please let me know.
