SOURCE: ryobi gas trimmer

I don't mean to over simplify this, but are you using fresh gas? Gas string trimmers are extremely ticky when it comes to gas. They like it SUPER fresh. And while the gas and oil mixture should be right, it can be off a little bit and still run. Try draining all of the gas out, and then filling up with fresh mix. This is ALWAYS my first step with string trimmers, and it fixes the problem 75% of the time.
Hope this helps!!

Electric ryobi weedeater with good battery won't start

Ryobi Trimmers unscrew halfway down the shaft (so it fits in the box). If this gets loose, the trimmer will stop working. Simply tighten the connection between the upper and lower half.

Got the new Ryobi RHT2660DA petrol hedge trimmer today. Have mixed fuel to instructions and followed every step to the letter. It starts fine, but keeps stopping when I excelerate it, any ideas?

It is running too lean on the mixture, if it was new return it for re tuning, it will be an easy fix which will only take a few minutes.

My Ryobi 700R "EZ" weedeater smokes excessively.

Check the fuel/oil mix ratio you are using. Some Ryobis use a 32:1 mix and some use a 40:1 mix. There isn't much difference there. To be on the safe side, if you machine is possibly running or tuned a little "lean" I would start off with about 4 oz/gallon oil to gas mix. Use synthetic 2-stroke oil also. Your machine will perform much better.

I need an old Ryobi RLH1100 Mark III manual to tune the carburettor

two stroke engine; cold start and run ok, but once it is hot, the engine stop suddenly and cannot start again. Fuel is not a problem. take plug out and pull the starter string, not spark. Reasonable guest is that the problem comes from the ignition coil or the switch, but the problem from the latter is rare as the switch is seldom affected by high temperature.
