Try another computer and see if the vga input is OK.
If it is then set the vista screen resolaution to 640x480 and connect a spare computer monitor on the pc vga out and check that the video is coming out the pc.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Have a nikon coolpix 3200 installed the picture project onto computer but doesn't open when camera is hooked up to computer like it says it's supposed to. even when I open it, it will not transfer pictures...

Picture Project was retired years ago, replaced by Nikon Transfer and Nikon ViewNX. You can download the current versions of all (free) Nikon software from
http://support.nikontech.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Picture project not detecting camera since installed windows 7, how do we download pictures now. camera is being detected by pc so it doesnt appear to be a hardware issue, nikon resource center say they...

You could try the folowings:

1) Run your picture project program under XP SP 2 'compatibilty mode'.

2) Run the picture project program in XP mode if your computer and version of Windows 7 allows it (eg. Professional or Ultimate versions but your computer processor will need to support 'hardware virtualization).

3) Run the program in a Virtual machine with XP installed: I would use Sun VirtualBox which is free and does not need hardware virtualisation (unlike windows 7 'native' XP mode or VPC2007).

As you can see, you do have some options to overcome Windows 7 shortcomings! Hope it helps.

I have recently installed vista. My pixma MP760

is the driver that you are using is for vista or you are using the xp driver? if you have upgraded to vista the driver for your printer should be vista compliant, if you dont have version for your vista you can download it thru the internet, just visit the site of the device manufacturer there you can get a driver that supports vista

I have a belkin easy transfer cable. How do i transfer photo's

On the old computer, run Vista's "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" to write one large file onto the old computer. The "export" file will contain your pictures.

Copy, via the transfer-cable, that one file to the new computer.

Run the "import" function of the Windows 7 Files and Settings Transfer Wizard to read the copied file.

Windows Vista Movie Maker

The file you saved just tells your computer where to get the picture files and sound files on the slower computer. You need to copy those files also. The program should ask you where you saved the picture and sound files on the faster computer.

One more shoot at this make sure you have set the menu to the correct USB option.  For windows XP Home and Pro, and most likely for Vista set it for Mass Storage option.  Now try it again.

Compatability with older programs

start menu... control panel... click on programs... under programs and features you will see "use an older program with this version of windows"

The compatability wizarrd will start.... let it show you the complete list of programs on your computer. chose one program at a time and run them in the under xp.

Repeat those steps for the programs that do not work properly under vista.

Photo Explosion 3 won't save images on Vista equipped computer

Doublecheck where it's trying to save the photo to. Vista gets a little weird about rights and folders, especially if UAC (user account control - Vista's idea of the "ultimate" security system)

Just for chucks, try and save the edited photo to someplace like the Users "My Documents" or desktop, where you should have full rights. If it saves there, see if you can change options to always store there.

And, I love your pipe tobacco :)....
