Everytime i try to install norton internet security 2011 on my computer running windows xp it says the program that you try to install has detected as malware and it cancelled the installation..

Seems like you have virus or malware on your computer. Download malwarebytes from www.malwarebytes.org and run a scan. Remove anything that malwarebytes suggest. You should also run a scan in safemode. After you have done this you should try to install Norton Internet Security 2011 again.

I have virus problem need to solve it and protect my laptop from virus

If it is a bad virus that won't let you do anything on the computer, follow the instructions on this link. If you can install programs on your computer, follow only steps 7 and 8 from the above link.

I can not down load anything on my dell 2200 lap top.

Check your Virus Control settings. I don't know which software you have for this, so you will need to investigate your settings yourself. Perhaps it does not allow you to download. This would be unusual, but possible. You may be able to lessen the control a bit, but do not turn it off. Investigate your options.

Check your internet settings as follows:

In the toolbar at the top of screen click on Tools
>Internet Options
>Security

Your internet security should be set at the default level.

Before you download anything from the internet you must be sure that your virus control program is up to date , since downloading can be a major source of viruses.

If your problem is not solved by these measures, plese get back to me with information regarding your oerating system and your virus control software.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Cant access files

I wouldn't try to install Norton on a machine I suspected had a virus (or at all really). There is a Norton removal tool on the Symantec website that might be useful, but you still need to get rid of the Trojan. There are a lot of free online virus scanners that should do the job. If you can go online in safe mode that would be best, or you could disable everything on startup using MSConfig.
