Could you please give me some more information as I am trying to figure out is ur printer faulty or your paintshop has expired is the problem. If the painshop is expiry is a problem then you can try to download some free software from http://www.download.com/. Please let me know if it solves your problem.

Do you still have the Dell AIO 922 Drivers and Utilities CD? If so, you can reinstall it on your new Dell PC with the Drivers and Utilities CD. Although you are able to see this printer in your list, the other components are missing such as the scan and fax options. If you have already reinstalled it using the CD, you should see the All In One Center under the Start Menu/ All Programs/Dell Printers/Dell AIO Printer 922 and the All In One Center should be showing there. You can right click on the All in One Center and select "send to" and choose desktop to create a shortcut or icon on your desktop. Your options for scanning and faxing should be showing here. Do a reset: Dell Printer reset 1.With the power on,unplug the power cord from the wall socket. 2.Disconnect the power supply from the back of the printer. 3.Wait 15 seconds. 4.Reconnect the power supply to the back of the printer. Plug the power cord back into the wall socket.
Dell Printers To run a nozzle clean, perform the following steps: 1.Verify the All-In-One Printer 922 is powered on and connected to a computer. 2.Verify that the paper support (input tray) has clean, plain white paper loaded. 3.Press the Menu button. 4.Press the Down button until Mode: Maintenance appears on the LCD screen. 5.Press the Menu button. The Dell 922 Maintenance Menu appears on the LCD screen. 6.Press the Down button until Clean Cartridges appears on the LCD screen. 7.Press the Start button. The AIO 922 prints the cleaning page. This process cleans the ink cartridges and resolves many print quality issues.

I have a Dell 942, and I also ran into problems scanning. Basically, the Dell "All In One Center" refused to open, and when the printer generates a scan, it tries to send it to that application. What worked for me was uninstalling Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and 8. Once I was back to IE6, my Dell printer functioned normally. Upgrading to IE7 immediately "broke" it again.
I discovered this after running a repair installation of Windows (a recommended action any time you start experiencing weird problems). I did not have to format my hard drive or lose any data, although some applications had to be reinstalled or re-patched afterward. But the repair install took me back to IE6, and magically, my printer suddenly worked again! When I went to the Microsoft Update site and upgraded to IE7, poof! Dell AIO Center would no longer open, and I couldn't scan.

Do you have microsoft office. if so, There's a little used program in the directory on your start/programs/microsoft/microsoft office tools called Microsoft office document and microsoft office scanning. Also, what software came with the printer/scanner. there's usualy a decent one bundled with them. if possible you may be able to scan to pdf. (pdf reader free from adobe)
--- Markbaker, as long as the scanner is installed correctly, then, again, in office or similar programs there should be an option to insert from scanner. click on that and it should bring up the scanner software to complete scan.
Not sure if this is the correct way around, but it worked. Go to Start --> All programs --> Dell Printers --> Dell Photo AIO Printer 922 --> Dell All-in-one center
From here, you can determine and change your scan settings as needed; then click "scan now" (thus by-passing the button on the actual AIO machine). This scanned photos into my picture program so I could email to all the grandparents!
