Question about Welding Tools
Have a Miller big 40 welder and the engine won't crank (locked up) water froze this winter, engine won't turn.
I'm not familiar with this particular unit--do you mean to say that the cooling system froze during the winter? If so, and the engine has overhead valves, the cylinder head, block, or both may have cracked causing water to leak into the cylinders which would have rusted the rings and cylinder walls (together). You are looking at major overhaul or even engine replacement (not what you were hoping). Good luck!

Testimonial: "it was already what I had guessed:)"
You have a set of points in the front of the generator part, next to where it connects to the motor. loosen that cover & slide it back and you will see them, take you a fine piece of sandpaper & smooth the carbon side of those brushes, just as you would in a starter. You can crank it up while you have that cover slid back & you should see little sparks from the brushes..this also will fix your 110 too
