I have exactly the same problem, I've purchased the adapter lead KS-U57 and plugged it into the rear of my KD-G502 head unit but cannot select the external component. Page 32 of the manual for the KD-G502 states that the unit is factory set to CHANGER to use the CD changer and that you need to change it to LINE IN to use the external component. How do you do this, I can't find the info anywhere?

How plug pioneer cdx- fm 673 in factory radio 2015 dodge challenger

You plug the cd changer modulator box into the factory radio antenna jack. Connect the factory antenna into the modulator box. The connect the modulators power and ground wires to the appropriate sources. Depending on what kind of connector dodge used you may have to purchase an set of antenna adapters. The modulator uses a standard Motorola plug. Various car manufacturers have created their own special plugs...i honestly do not know if dodge has done this or not.

Hey guys, I've just installed a CD changer in my car - having some difficulties getting it to work. After some Googling I came across this forum so I figured I'd see if any of you guys know where I'm...

there should be a small connector on the changer itself for the power ground and remote wire for power to the changer unit. the cord coming from the unit to the changer doesn't supply this power and this is why it wont eject and also your head unit wont recognize it until it gets powered up and able to communicate with the head unit and then it will show up as a selectable source when switching between sources of music. check the back of the changer for a small connector containing 3 or 4 pins and you should have a connector with the corresponding wires coming from it to plug into this spot after connecting the wires properly. if you bought it on ebay it is possible you didn't get this piece which is critical when connecting this changer.

I bought a '96 Mustang with an Alpine CHM 5620 CD player already installed. The unit appears in great shape and looks as if it were installed by a pro. It seems to load up the CD cartridge and change CDs...

This model of cd changer doesn't have the fm modual built into it. So I am wonder how this setup worked before. Most of these units had an FM tansmitter in them and you would just turn on your factory radio and set the fm tuner to a certain frequency like 89.5 or 91.3, not excatly sure on the right number, but somewhere low in the range. Turn on the stero and try tuning into differnet stations.

But like I said this model is desgined to be used with a aftermarket head unit with the proper wired connection going from the cd changer to the head unit.

The unit seems to have power and makes 'start up' nouises. However, it will not change or recognise CD's. Is there a changer that could be stuck?

Look out for resetting the changer using the small hole in front panel.if this wont reset then try to remove power and switch on. if not remove the set and open the cover, slowly unwind the load motor to release the cd into the slot and eject. there after try to load for testing. if not check for failure of the load motor, connection of the motor line, failue of the motor drive link or slipping of the drive gears. check for the drive IC of the loading motor also. I hope this would solve. Good day

Sound from CD changer is distorted

hi my names josh so you have a 12 disc changer with a factory radio with an RF modulator hmmm well i could definely see that being your problem right there. usually your best shot is always a strait connection from and after market reciever to your changer without that RF modulator in line. That being said since your signal RF out to the changer is giving you your sound its very posible you would need to use a ground loop isolator to eliminate that noise. it would plug line out from the modulator going to the changer and in most cases provides a stable ground in the line which is most cases is the problem in your case i would be willing to bet thats yours.
