I have a Panasonic 32 inch HDTV. TV worked great until one day tried to turn on and nothing. It acts like it has no electrical power. We have tried plugging into different outlets with no luck. The red...

One simple solution may be to replace the power cable or the power strip that the TV is plugged in to. If you cannot get any power to the TV even after this step, it is most likely a motherboard or some sort of circuitry issue. Make sure you are using the physical buttons on the TV when trying to turn the TV on; leave the remote out of the equation. If it still does not come on, your TV may be far gone. HDTVs have a lifespan these days of anywhere between 3-5 years for plasma, 5-7 years for LCD, and the new LED tvs are supposed to last anywhere between 7-10 years.

The TV will shut off by itself randomly (anywhere

Sounds like the TV is going into the "protect mode", usually means there is a failure present and it's shutting down to ward off any serious damage to the electronics. The status light will usually blink a error code along with this symptom, call a service center and let them know how many times the light is blinking in a continious pattern and that will help them to diagnos your TV problem. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Dead, no power

It sounds like ze power supply blew when it was being turned off. This seems to be typical of plasmas. Bad power supplys wont let the tv come on and will result in no lights coming on. Since there R no lights coming on, I would suspect the power supply first, followed by the power control board,. and circuit board. It may cost anywhere from $250 to $500 to fix.

No Power Sony KV-27FS12

IF the unit is completely dead (no standby light at all) then teh main fuse is most likely open. Try replacing that first. If the stnadby light is on, then when you attempt to turn it on, the light shouild blink. If so, the blinking should be a repeated count with a short pause between sequences. Post that count here as it will indicate what circuit has the problem. We will continue from there.

Thanks,
Dan

T.V. won't turn on

This is a classic symptom of high voltage shutdown. There is probably a bad flyback [high voltage transformer]. The problem is one for the techs. Replacement usually involves also replacing several H/V components as well. The TV tries to come on, energizing the H/V circuits, then, the protection circuit detects too much current and goes into "protective shutdown" and then tries again. After a few tries, it stops trying. The protective circuit us there to keep from blowing breaker or causing a fire.

If it's an expensive set, take it in to the shop, otherwise go shopping for a new one. This repair can run anywhere from $100 - 400.

Yet another hissing/buzzing noise from back of TV

Good day.

Check for the horizontal output transistor, flyback and filter capacitors.
Any of these being shorted can cause the problem.
