1 Answer

I cannot get any video to show up. I have tried to hook it up with all available outputs to an optama projector and also a sony bravia lcd. using the HDMI to DVI cords. It says searching for connection and recognizes it for about 1 second then begins searching again. I cannot even access the yamahas on screen menu to mess with any settings please help.

I am of the opinion that the video connections on receivers are little more than glorified "extension cords" with only a couple of exceptions reserved for standard definition monitors. Otherwise, connecting your device with video output directly to the TV or projector is the best choice...unless of course you have an outboard dedicated video processor, which the performance of cannot approached by any receiver.
However...to use the on screen receiver menu, the "monitor out" connection of any type to an available input on the TV will suffice.

Check out your output, they all show blue until you hook something up to them, make sure you have it hooked up right. write a post and let me know what you have hooked up to it.

Fequency out of range

The unit has detected a video signal but can not decode it. It is likely that either the sending signal resolution is too high or too low. Try changing the video resolution to a different level and try again. If no signal appears to work, then the input card is defective.

Please keep us posted.

MY PS3 WONT SHOW UP ON DISPLAY

Turn off the PS3, turn on manually with your finger on the power (touch) button hold until you hear the first beep (powering on) and then hear a second. This should change the output of the video to what you are currently using. If nothing, then check your input channel. Hook something else in the same spot make sure the inputs work and hook up the ps3 and repeat the last steps if needed.

DVD is wired to the VCR and does not work

The Sony Bravia should have a number of component inputs, so you should be able to hook up the DVD directly to the TV. The only reason for hooking it up through the VCR would be to record a DVD on VHS... but that's for the birds--VHS is old technology.

Each component input on the back of the TV has a number. You then select to view the component you want by pressing the remote control button to change the display (it should show with one you're on... e.g., Video 1, Video 2, Video 3, etc.).
