HELP!!! FORGOT INTERNAL HDD-0 PASSWORD . . . ANY IDEA'S ON HOW I CAN ACCESS . . . . HELP!
Sorry, but you'll probably need to get yourself a new hard disk.
If its a ATA hard disk password, sorry, but you're pretty much screwed...
Its probably the hardest password to bypass.
IF the laptop still has a BIOS or POWERON password, that is the same as the hard disk password... ie, if you only ever had to put in one password, and, if, with the hard disk removed, it still asks for your password, you MAY be able to pay someone to RECOVER that password, and then use the recovered password to unlock the hard disk.
If however, the system doesnt prompt you for a password with the hard disk removed, either at turn on or to enter the BIOS, then the password is only on the hard disk.
No software will remove that password, unless you already know the password, as it is integrated into the hard disk electronics and stored on the platter. The hard disk will cancel any read requests until a valid password is input.
IF you need data, your only options are:
A. Remember password.... keep trying. :-(
B. Send the hard disk to a professional company that specialises in removing ATA hard disk passwords. For example:
There are probably a few others around too, but few and far between, and will charge dollars to do it.. I'm guessing $100USD+ to remove password.
Oh, and Dell won't help, in case you were wondering.:-(
Sorry about the bad news, and hope the info helps.
