If your starter does not have a solenoid on it,you can tell by checking to see if has only one post[no solenoid ]or three posts[solenoid style],then you need to check the starter relay[ or solenoid] that is mounted elsewhere on the machine. If there is a wire that goes to ground on it and one that comes live with the key in the start position the the solenoid[or relay],is defective. If you have no power from the ignition switch in the start position then you likely have a bad safety switch somewhere, usually the pto or park brake switch.

Sounds like your battery cables on the starter is not working and needs replacing. i had a loose cable and would not work.Your solenoid may be bad as well.

Starter kicks in but wont turn engine acts like too much compression, battery is fully charged

Very can be if it is an OHV engine that either the valves are needing adjusting or the decompressor has failed.

Most 4 cycle small mower engines have decompressors to help with the starting, These are only active at start-up and does not effect normal engine compression when running.

Will not start new starter

Most likely the solenoid. With the key on, touch the two large terminals on the solenoid with a screwdriver. If it tries to start, the solenoid is bad.

TL80 New Holland tractor will not start

Check connections at battery, starter solenoid and starter motor, make sure they are clean and tight. Check the both ends of ALL wires. Check starter is not jammed. Check starter mounting bolts are tight. Make sure battery is good by using jump leads from known good battery (like your car).

My husqvarna zero turn rz4621 starter is getting enough voltage, but isn't putting out enough to start my briggs and straton motor. have checked with meter starter and silinoid, have had battery checked...

it maybe that the battery is getting old or is not the right rating if the AH Start rate is too low it will not have enough power to turn the starter motor. ensure the battery you use has enough Starting Amps rated. if this is not the issue have the starter motor checked out.

I hope this was useful.

INstalled new battery on Craftsman Riding mower. Now the motor wont start or even turn over.

You may have shorted out one of the wires going into the battery, blowing a fuse, or damaging the starter or the starter solenoid.

Looking for a manual ..i tried www.managemyhome ,,butthey did not have my model #944607042 thanks

How long has it been since the device? Maybe the engine is "frozen". Put it in the highest gear and take the brake off. Then try to move the mower or whatever it is by hand. If you can get the vehicle to move, then try starting it. If that doesn't work, then you need to see if you're getting power from the battery to the starter motor. Check the starter relay if it has one, and check all connections from the battery and to the starter motor to make sure they are tight and clean.
