Power adapter for Astra 2100U

I'm unable to locate the power cable that came with the scanner. If a universal adapter can be used, what voltage, etc. should I use?

    Thanks for your help! Sounds like I should stick to commandeering my friend's scanner & dropping the files on a disc, huh? Well.... it was worth a shot! :o)

    I have the Astra 2100U scanner. No power supply, no power markings
    on the scanner, orcanner, please reply the volts and polarity. Thank you.

The Voltage and Current/Amperage draw should be printed on a tag on the scanner itself. The scanner isn't worth replacing the power supply in my opinion as you could probably replace the scanner for a little more than what a power supply will cost.

I lost the power cord of my Astra 2200. Can I use any input 12v cord?
I tried to find some information for you on this product but came up virtually empty handed.

I know this, it's a 12 volt power adapter.

You really should have more information than this to match up a power adapter, or you could burn out the unit.

My suggestion would be to take the entire unit into radioshack, and have them match it up for you, they have a universal power adapter system, very usefull.

Hopefully umax put the information on what power adapter is neccessary on the plastic housing next to the power adapter port, some companies do this.

Have installed Windows 7. My UMAX Astra Scanner 2100U will not scan my documents. It was OK with Windows XP
Yeah, bummer. Somehow scanners did not work with newer OS. If Umax does not have different drivers, you have to replace the unit.

How do I connect the scanner for windows Vista through the USB port? I have a parellel to USB adapter. Does it require any additional drivers?
That scanner is quite old now, and will require drivers for vista.. i wouldn't imagine that you could get vista drivers for it now unfortunately, which is a shame because that was a great scanner.

just out of interest, you could try googling "umax astra 2100u vista drivers" and see what comes up... i dont hold much hope though :-(

I need the powers cables is an escanner model umax astra 1220p
i fyou are unable to find one for this unit i would suggest trying a walmart, kmart or radio shack for a universal dc adapter that can supply the correct voltage to the unit. they also come with universal ends. cost aroudn 20-40$USD.

your best bet these days it to buy a new scanner.

Ran across your request for information about the cables needed for hooking up the Umax Astra 1220U scanner. The scanner require a standard older version USB cable that hooks the scanner to your PC. The second cable is the Power Supply Adapter cable. The information listed on the Power Supply Adapter is listed below. P/N 490081-03 Input 120 Volt @ 60 Hz 0.3 amps Output DC 12 Volts @ 1 Amp Model # RWP481212 You should be able to get the scanner to work as long as you can find any power supply that has the listed Input/Output ratings, an adapter that will plug into the scanner.
