The plastic line has cracked at the water valve. See this page item 804:

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=206380&diagram_id=21040526#d21040526

It is a matter of turning off the water supply, removing the attaching nut and compression fitting then cut off the line... transfer the inner sleeve nut and brass outer compression ring to the new hose then reinstall the line onto the water valve. If it is leaking at a water filter connection the repair is the same as above.

Turn on the water supply when you finish.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Hotpoint refrigerator leaking water from hose underneath

It sounds like this may be coming from the icemaker water valve. If the refrigerator is an older one the tubing gets brittle and cracks. Check this first. But the water valve is usually on the left side in the back.

The problem is relatively simple to repair. The drain tube in the freezer is blocked so the water will drain down the back of your fridge. Often the drain gets blocked by ice build up. The defrost circuit in your fridge has failed and ice is building up on the evap coil in the freezer. When the ice builds up, it blocks the drain tube. The typical failures of the defrost is the timer failing to advance or the heater is burned out. Being that said it was probally manufactured at least10 years ago, and certainly a new refridgerator would be more energy efficient and cheaper to operate than using a 10 year old model. Whether you should repair or replace it depends on whether you have the money to replace it. Hope this helps you.

Sounds like the fill tube at the ice maker is either out of alignment or has a crack in it.

The water supply line from the water inlet valve enters the rear of the freezer and releases the water into a large diameter fill tube. The fill tubes hangs above the fill cup which funnels the water into the ice mold. If the fill tube and fill cup are improperly aligned, water may spill out instead of going into the mold.

The water connection valve at the bottom right back of the refrigerator leaks badly. Water seems to come from the blue plastic cap on the outside of the valve. Where can I get a part to repair this?

You need to reseal the connection. You have to turn the water source to frig of at the tap valve. You then have to loosen the connector for the frig the one that has the vinyl line running thru it. You will get some water out because water from the tap and vinyl line might be under a little pressure. Remove the nut and the vinyl tubing. See if it has a little ring over the tubing. If not slide the nut farther back on the tubing and cut tubing below the nut. reattach the nut to the blue valve, but don't over tighten the nut make it finger tight. open the tap valve slowly. The tubing will get pressure. Look at the connection that you just fastened to see if it is leaking. If it is tighten the nut a little more. This should stop the leak(do not over tighten the nut as this will cause the tubing to leak again. If there are no leaks you can open the tap valve all of the way.

Hello? I have a new Eclipse Kenmore being installed Tuesday 12/23. What do I need to provide for a water supply?

Hi,

I see your installation date has come and gone, but if you still need to hook up the water you can find an "ice-maker kit" from almost any home improvement store (such as Lowes, Ace, Home Depot etc....) This includes 1/4" bendable copper tubing and a valve that will tap a near by cold water supply pipe. If you find a kit with plastic tubing, I would steer clear and find the bendable copper. Plastic tubing kits are notorious for springing leaks. Buy some extra compression nuts and washers for the tubing while you are there, it may take more than one try to get a waterproof seal if this is your first time hooking up water and ice dispenser.

When hooking up the tubing to the back of the refridgerator, leave a couple coils of slack to allow the refridgerator to be pushed in or pulled out without straining the connection. There is usually a small clamp on the refridgerator back to hold the tubing steady, make sure you use this. This will help ensure a leak free connection. After you have the tube hooked up, push the refridgerator all the way back, then pull it back out and check for leaks. Sometimes the tube will start dripping a bit after the refridgerator is moved, so this step helps ensure you won't have leak problems.

Fridgidaire Gallery Series Side by Side Refridgerator

"jennycub" sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine. very common problem( easy to detect. water on the floor of freezer compartment) as far as the other posting by" humblerumble", ive seen where the drain tube under the refig has pushed a hole into the drain pan under the refrig, in which case it will only leak after a defrost cycle, with the kickplate removed grab a flashlight and look under the unit for the drain pan as you pur water into the back of the freezer sect to trace water flow
