Question about Samsung TX-T2793H TV

Open Question

TV turns itself off moments after I turn it on

Had a power outage and then power was restored. Turned the tv on [Samsung TX-T2793H] and each time it was turned on moments later it would shut itself off. I've had the tv for two years. What could be wrong and how much should I expect to pay to get it repaired if this is the case?

SOURCE: Problem with tv turning off by itself.

I had a friend with the same problem. He had to clean the components and fans in the set. The accumulated dust had caused the set to run hot and a safety switch was the tv off. He purchased a few cans of compressed air and, as he blew the components and fans out, used a vacuum to capture the blown dust. Good luck.

SOURCE: Samsung dlp hdtv turns itself off

We had this exact problem with our Samsung DLP about a year ago (it was 2 years old at the time). We purchased a small desk fan for $6 and placed in behind the TV. We started running the fan when watching and it fixed the problem of the TV clicking off. It was inteded to be a short-term fix, but since it's worked so well we still haven't gotten the TV fixed.

When TV is off and there is a power outage the TV

This TV has a Power Standby feature (pg. 40 of your manual) which allows you to more quickly turn ON the TV. When power is lost and then restored, your TV will display the HP logo screen while it boots the digital circuits. After it is finished, (unless it was previously turned on) it should appear to be OFF. This is normal operation. If you like, you can change this setting to LOW POWER. At this setting, each time you turn on the TV, you will see the HP Logo screen and picture/sound will appear after 20 seconds. Again, take a look at pg. 40 of your owners manual for more information.

Tv turned itself off last night when turned back on light flashes 10 times please help x

Check and see if the unit is still cover under the extended warranty.

Troubleshooting electronic is fairly simple.

Get few compress air can (duster) and cool one PC board at a time.

Most likely it will be the power supply board.

You must do this systematically and rotate between all board.

Good luck

Had a power outage while watching tv. Then 3 blinking lights.

This is an on-going problem with DLP sets. Normally you shut the set off and the cooling fan cools the lamp down and then it shuts off. In your case, of which it's not your fault, however your lamp has taken a major hit by not properly cooling down, in turn, you need to replace your lamp at this time.
I suggest in the future if you have an electrical storm and a chance of a power outage while your watching tv, I would'nt play that model or any other model of a DLP set.

ILO 2706 TV WONT TURN ON

This TV might have been affected by the power outage even if it was not ON at that moment. There is a standby voltage still present even when OFF and connected to the AC line.
There might be different failures on this TV:
1. The power supply might be defective after the power outage.
2. The main board could also be defective since the power supplies for today's TVs are not well regulated and once the voltage getting to the power supply increases, the standby voltage voltage will also increase damaging voltage sensitive components like the microprocessor or memory circuitry.

Let me know if you require further assistance.

If it's not yet a year old it should have some warranty - take it to the shop.. It's probably the HOT (Horizontal Output Transistor) which have been a problem child in this series all the way back to the TXP2745... But don't even crack the case on this one if it's that new - labor might not be covered but parts might. In any event replacing the HOT is not a difficult or expensive job.

Power outage caused child lock, 2729 model tv

I'm guessing what you have there is an Akai CFT2791 made by Samsung? And a CFT2729 is not a good model number. You will need to get into the menu and then sub menus to change or turn off the child lock feature. The procedure is well described in the owner's manual and I have the manual. You can email me privately I'll send it to you... premtech@willapabay.org Bill
