I have the same TV; the 52" XBR9. I bought it also a year ago. I am having the same problem. My TV flickers, images are double and tripled sometimes. But if you hit the TV on the back, not to hard, it fixes the problem. I am having a technician come on down to my home to take a look at it. My manufactures warranty is ending in three days. Thank god it had happened before that. The TV is mostly the problem here and not your cable box.
I am having the exact same issue. It started happening within the first few hours of turning on the XBR9 for the first time. I also have a Motorola box from Comcast. This did not happen with the HD TV that was hooked up previously. Did you return the TV?
Did you resolve this problem? I just received my kdl52xbr9 with the same problem. I called Sony customer service as soon as I found out this problem.A technician from the local Sony Service Center will take a look at it in a couple of days.
i have a 46 inch sony bravia that i bought in 2007. recently i have noticed that the screen is showing horizontal lines (purple?) about that come and go. any advice would be greatly appreciated
