Question about Jl Audio Stealthbox Single 10" VW Passat 98-05 Speckled Gray
I see the UK after your name. If it means across the Atlantic, this solution mught not be appropriate, but if these colors are present in your wiring harness, then what I say is correct. By electrical towing standards. white from the tow is ground which is any clean spot to connect to on the frame of the vehicle. Brown is connectted to the tail, parking, or running lights which is one of the 2 wires that connect to the Two-filiment bulb in the rear reds lights of the vehicle. The green and yellow are the trun signals (left yellow & green right) or (left green & yellow right) which are connected to the other wire in the pair to the two-filiment bulb. These two colors are combined when you push the brake pedal to show stopping lights. So if you don't have break lights you probably don't have turn signals. There are no back up lights in a tow situation. Do not cut your vehiicle wires. Use crimping connectors that crunch on to your existing wires with another wire. Have extra fuses for myyour vehicle.
