Question about Tomtom ONE GPS Receiver
I had a similar problem with my Garmin Nuvi 255. What I found was I needed to downloaded Garmin Webupdater from their website (not sure of the url) and download the new GPS software to my computer and then into my GPS ( in that order, they insist).
Make sure beforehand that you have charged your GPS at least 3-5 hours so that it has enough power to stay on during the entire process otherwise it could be rendered inoperable from the download.

Keeps freezing, then shuts off, then restarts again, and it goes through the same process over and over again

Sounds like it's been dropped?
