Removal of rear right hand wheel

I have a flat tire and would like to change it. It is on a Craftsman II, 14 hp v-twin B & S engine Model #944.607240, Serial #0360S01069, I have removed the wheel cap, but cannot remove the snap on ring, or whatever is holding the wheel is place. Could someone please advise me as to how to remove this wheel.

Thank you

The snap ring can be removed with a screwdriver and needle nose pliers. Be sure you dont loose the key stock that alignes the axle and wheel.

The drive wheels are driving forward & when you turn the from wheels dig in to get traction to push the tractor around the turn. Best solution is slow down and/or turn less sharply.

Clunking and banging combined with a slip feeling coming from the front left side of my primary

depending upon your model (sportser or big twin ) the primary chain should be checked for adjustment around every 10,000 miles big twin adjustment is as follows disconnect neg. cable from battery jack and level remove shift lever if necessary remove inspection cover ( replace gasket and o-ring ) also do this with bike at room temp. with rear tire in air turn rear wheel shifting into top gear turn wheel while pushing on change find tightest point on change chain deflection should be 3/8 to 5/8 move adjuster to needed position

Rear wheel removal from craftman riding mower

Do you have the rim and tire off and you want to remove the hub?
I believe every rider mower and tractor I've had and worked on had the rear tire attached to the hub as in a car, with lug nuts or lug bolts. Check to see if there are four or five lug bolts that hold the rim onto the hub.

My deck cuts shoter on the rt,ie uneven

Check your tire pressures:
10 psi. for rear tires.
14 psi. for the front.

Note that according to MTD:
Making sharp right hand turns. Twin-blade mower decks are designed with the discharge on the right side and two side-by-side blades. The side-by-side twin blade decks have the left hand blade positioned slightly forward and in front of the right blade. This provides cutting overlap when traveling in a straight line. As a result, the tractor should mainly operated making primarily left hand turns when cutting. During left turns this cutting overlap is maintained. If turning right when, it is possible to negate this overlap and leave an uncut strip.

Trans dose not work since i replaced rear tire on lt 1000 tractor

Similar thing happened to me . There is a half moon "key" that slides into a groove in the axle. Sounds like that fell out when you took off the wheel. Look around where you took the wheel off to see if you can find it. If not they're not very expensive at a repair shop. I did not know this & I took in in to the shop. Luckily they only charged me for the part.

Clutch issues: release clutch and mower doesnt move.

"....I just took off the right rear tire to replace."

Make sure the key hasnt fallen out of the right rear tire. It has to have the key to work. Its a peice of metal about 3 inches long and flat on all sides. It should slip into the grove on the tires shaft. Hope that helps.

Removing tire from SEARS CRAFTSMAN LT1000 TRACTOR.

You need to remove the black rubber cap from the center of the wheel. Remove the "C" clip from the axle and the wheel should come off. The rear tires will have a square key in it. Do not loose the key.
