I've been shooting a couple of movie clips, but there is no sound recording to accompany them, either on playback on the camera or once copied to my PC (I may not have loaded the software to my PC though - new Vista rubbish and all that). I did read one review about a fello who said sound playback took him a bit of time to work out, but helpfully he neglected to provide the steps for this!

If you are asking about getting movie clip sound while playback in camera then you wont get it because camera has no inbuilt speaker to give you that sound. Transfer movie clip in computer the get its sound because camera has inbuilt mic to record sound.
DSC-S930 does record sound and you can hear video clip sound by playback of Media Player in Computer. This camera does not have inbuilt speaker for playback sound but it have inbuilt mic to record sound, transfer recorded movie clip in computer and play it with media player to get sound and picture. Hope this info will help you.
You will get sound when you transfer recorded movie clips in your computer and playback in computer.
DSC-S500 Sony Cybershot has built-in mic to record sound but doesn't have speaker to give sound during playback in camera. You need to import movie files in your PC and playback in PC to hear sound.
This camera does record sounds. But, it doesnt look like it has a speaker in it to play them. So, yes unfortunately you wont be able to hear what you record unless you are using something else to playback what you have recorded.
This is because of low light and low frame rates in the camera. It records the sound on time but the picture delays. In the camera's video menu, choose a higher frame rate to help this a little. Honestly though, If you want to shoot better video get a video camera.
