Radio will no longer flip out. Only after resetting car system

Hello. I have the jensen vm9312. I have had it for about 8 months and all of a sudden it stopped flipping out when i turn on the car. When i press the open button nothing happens either. However if i unplug the negative terminal on the battery and plug it back in, when I turn the car on the radio flips out. After shutting the car it won't come out again. Please help!

Jensen radios are notoriously unreliable (which is why they've gone out of business several times. New companies buy the rights to the name and release inferior products under it).

Unfortunately, since Jensen is no longer a legitimate company, parts are not available and, thusly, repair is not possible.

FM Reception with Jensen MSR3007

I have the exact same problem with the exact same stereo. I started by removing the in-line AM/FM/VHF Separator and connecting the antenna directly to the stereo. The static/popping/fade-out continued. Today I swapped to a new antenna, but it did not help. I swapped back to the original antenna and for a brief while, I had good reception. The I went to coil the excess antenna cable and the static/popping/fade-out resumed. I have narrowed it down to either the antenna connector coming out of the back of the stereo or an internal circuit. Either way, it does not look like a do-it-yourself fix.
