Ash it looks like you are having a PCI modem.

If your modem is PCI then you have to install it in PCI slot of your Motherboard. The PCI Slots generally came with 'WHITE COLOR' socket. There is only one way to connect properly. So try to connect the white socket on the board in which it fits gently and perfectly.

Thanks

Problem with mother board ms-7030 usb ports and ps/2 not working at all

The USB and PS/2 ports are ,as far as I can tell, controlled by the same chip on the motherboard. If this has failed you will have to replace the motherboard. Your board and processor are very old so the chances of thermal failure are very likely. Sorry, a new mobo and cpu bundle will make a vast difference to your experience and can be found fairly cheaply.

That will require a soldering iron, and a another battery with the same numbers. It is not a user replaceable part. the unit will have to be disassembled to access the battery properly.

Or, Turn the DSL modem off.
