My sunbeam bread maker

Many machines default to that setting because it is the basic white bread settting that is used the most. Just push the select button and you should see other programs and times on the display. Just keep pushing the select button until it lands on the program you want, then push the START button.

Addressing Power-up/Start-up Issues:

1. Unplug the breadmaker.

2. Confirm the power source your accessing is live using a blender, toaster, etc.

3. Plug the breadmaker in.

4. Confirm the breadmaker is receiving power:

    1. Some models have a built-in off/on switch. Turn it to the ON position.
    2. Some models make an audible tone when plugged in.
    3. Some models have a colored light and/or a lighted display screen that lights up.

4. Were you able to confirm that your breadmaker is receiving power? Fantastic! Now reset the breadmaker by pressing the Start button down until you notice a visible and/or audible confirmation, usually within 5 to 10 seconds.

That should fix it. Hope this helps!

West Bend Bread Maker model 41056 does not start. When machine is plugged in, LED displays a time but buttons do not work and red light does not go on. (Pan was in machine and anchored.)

Power-Up/Start-Up Issues:

  1. Unplug the breadmaker.
  2. Confirm the power source you're drawing from is live using a blender, toaster, etc.
  3. Plug the breadmaker in, unplug it, then plug it in a second time.

    1. Some models have a built-in off/on toggle power switch. Be sure it's turned on.
    2. Most models confirm power by making an audible beep when plugged in.
    3. Most models have a colored light and/or a lighted display screen that lights up.
    4. Most models require you press down on the Stop button until the unit powers up.

E. Some models require you press down on the Start button until the unit powers up.

F. Some models require you press down on the Select button until the unit powers up.

G. Many models require you select a baking mode by pressing the Select button before the pressing the Start button.

Q: In the end, were you able to confirm your breadmaker is receiving power?

No. Sorry to hear that. Have it serviced by a small appliance repair shop or simply discard it.

Yes. Fantastic! Now reboot the electronics by pressing down on the Stop button for 1 to 5 seconds. Note: A few models require you press down on the Start button instead. And even fewer require you press down on the Select button instead.

Often the + and - Delay Timer buttons are pressed by mistake, delaying Start by up to 12 hours. If you suspect this handy feature has been engaged accidentally, you'll need to reboot the breadmaker's electronics. See reboot directions above.

Note: All breadmakers use a belt and pulley system. If your breadmaker powers-up but the mixer won't turn during the kneading cycles, your timing belt is probably broken. You'll need to disassemble the breadmaker to visually confirm. The belt and pulley assemblies are located at the bottom of your breadmaker.

Sunbeam 5891 Breadmaker stops for several seconds

It is normal. It allows the dough to fall back on the mixer blade. Often these reverse and that also gives the motor time to come to complete stop before reversing.

Error message on screen E000001-0002

E000001-0002 refers to the fuser assy either getting to hot or not hot enough. Fuser error codes cannot be reset by power cycling the machine even though that is what the display tells you to do. In order to reset the fuser error code you must enter the service mode & reset the code. To enter the service mode: press"Additional Functions" button (looks like a picture of a head with a star inside) press the #2 and #8 at the same time (simultaneousley) press "additional functions" again The display should show a choice of copier, feeder, sorter, fax,or board service modes Select copier select clear select ERR press OK Turn power off & back on. ****IMPORTANT**** After clearing error stay at the machine to see if it comes to ready. The fuser assy can reach 139 degrees C.(Water boils @ 100C) The error can only be cleared through the service mode because a technician should inspect the fuser to verify there is nothing faulty that could possibly start a fire. If you enter the service mode & clear the error, power cycle the machine & during warm up the machine throws a code again- turn it off, unplug it & call a tech for fuser repair. Good Luck!! I can be reached @ bspier@carlsonsupplies.com if you have any questions.
