How to change the cleaning pattern on a barracuda g4

You could be in a screensaver mode or your graphics card might be blown. Try accessing system preferences and turning off the screensaver and/or powers aving options. Your G4 could be in sleep mode. Try starting from Disc Warrior and clean up your opertating system. May help.

since this cleaner works on the principal that if run long enough it will clean the entire pool area, there is no real way to control its movements. try removing one length of the hose. this will change the pattern of the cleaner. you can also change the flow rate of the water and if you are using a weight, change its position. try only one fix at a time so you know which is working

I put several layers of Teflon tape on the threads in hope this will solve this problem. My barracuda G4 is several years old and just started doing this in 65 degree pool water. The cold could be causing some shrinkage So far it has helped.

That's how they run, they basically just follow their hose!

Keep in mind that they are made of plastic and the threads change shape over the years.. Try applying several wraps of Teflon tape on the cassette threads and re tighten. You can check your water flow and make sure that it is not too high, but if your pool cleaners flipping over, there is probably a rather sever issue. Zodiac recommends that you contact your local warranty location if the cleaner is still under warranty.

Could be a small rock or stick stuck in the diaprahm. If you pull the head you can look down both ends, use a ling stick or wire to clear or take the unit apart to find and clear this.

It is probably not a problem with the shoes. These pool cleaners (and automatic pool cleaners in general) often get stuck on the main drain since the implementation on the new anti-entrapment drains. There is a ring that you can buy that goes on the drain. It is designed specifically for preventing pool cleaners from getting caught on the main drain.

If you change the direction on your return eyeballs you will change the current in the pool that could be stopping the cleaner from having free roam. Set them give half an hour then ck it again. Keep this till you see the results you want.
