I have a 2 year old LG LCD TV (model 42LG60) and I am having problems with the screen. I turn it on and everything is fine for a few minutes and then the screen goes to red or green lines that are fuzzy....

Not really a solution, sorry, but I've got the very same problem. I haven't noticed the time before tv faults, but nontheless, it greenscreens or like in your case, redscreens as well. I've been told to open the back, which I did to check the status of the capicitors, which I've done. But, the capacitors "seem" fine. No bulging or popped tops. So, I'm at a stand still...not sure what to do at this point. If someone gives you solution, I sure would appreciate your forwarding it on to me. Thanks. Robert

AT NIGHT, TV SWITCHES ON AUTOMATICALLY AND CHANGES FROM SIDE AV TO OTHER OPTIONS, I.E. PC / HD 1 ETC. LAST NIGHT TV SWITCHES ON, CHANGED TO HD1 AND TURN VOLUME AUTOMATICALLY TO 0. CAN'T GET VOLUME UP. WHEN...

what you describe is almost impossible ..the only explaining is someone with a compatible remote control messing around with you ..so ...pay attention ..and after that if you are completely sure that this is out of case...Leave a comment and I will search for another possible cause ..

While watching TV last night, sounded like a light bulb popping. The screen went blank but the sound remained. Does this sould repairable of an LG 42 - 46 inch flat screen?

Yes it does. WHat has popped was most likely a fuse (along with a component that caused the problem) and it is most likely an inverter board.

The best thing you can do is test the fuses on both inverters first.

The fuses are small rectangular, usually white with golden plates on both sides of their about 6 mm long bodies near the cable connectors.

A burned (open) fuse indicates faulty board.

And here is a listing I found for you on eBay that sells them REALLY cheap:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Zenith-42LC2D-inverter-boards-6632L-0153D-6632L-0154D-/320600922120?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa54dd808

I am not anyhow associated with this seller. Picked it because the sale gives both inverters for the price for which others are selling one of them...or at least it seems so. You may want to talk to the seller first.

Hope this helps. If it does do not forget to rate it :-)

I have a Samsung plasma over 5 years old. power

The x-sus or y-sus panel wil be the fault.Check the fuses on these panels ,if one of the fuses is open then that panel must be replaced. Not verry cheap to replace.
