The same exact thing has happened to me with Call of Duty. It is extremely frustrating. If the Xbox is working with other games and not Call of Duty, then it means that the call of duty disc is ruined. You simply have to buy a new one. Before buying a new one, however try cleaning the disc with disc cleaner, because that has worked before. Good luck, and any further questions let me know so i can help you resolve this issue.
Put a cd in the dvd player if it is marked that it plays cds... if it plays the cd your dvd laser is shot... cheaper to get a new unit. if it doesn't play a cd try cleaning the laser. and last but not the last thing try unplugging it for a short time then plug it back in... if nothing works get the one tool that fixs most everything...... take it to office depot and they can recycle the stuff inside and help keep the earth green...then onto wally world.
Your DVD player is fu.k.d up. These things are made so cheap now a days that it is more trouble to try to fix the thing, than going out and buying a new one. You can try running a disc head cleaning kit through it first to see if that helps.
This of course may not be the exact same thing, but mine did the same thing. Sounding like it was loading, but in fact pressing the open button it I could see the disc not spining at all (normally you would.) With the power off of course. I took all the bottom screws out (where ever the arrow points to a screw) including to the display. There is one ribbon cable easily disconnected. I lifted the mount the DVD sits on and reseated it. I put a disc in it, turned on the power and the disc turned. Great I thought. I reconnect the cable, put the screws back in - and its working.
There are a few different things that you can try. First make sure that
your discs are clean before you put them in the player. Even if the
disc is new I would recommend cleaning the disc off. The second thing
that you can try is a DVD player reset. You can do this by unplugging
the player for about 5-10 minutes. Then plug it back in and try the
disc. If that does not help I would try a DVD head cleaner in the
player. If all of these things do not work, it is most likely an issue
with the player.
the laser inside may be having the problem or the optical sensor inside the player is not proper.....
if after all the above said procedures fail kindly contact ur manufacturer.
Sounds very much like you have a either a dirty laser, or a laser unit failure. Put a cleaning disc through the machine, and see if it improves. If not, then you need to either have a new laser fitted, or a new machine.
