Remove the food and the ice maker from the freezer ( if equiped ) and the bottom panel . Remove the rear freezer panel . Using a hair dryer , start in the middle , below the coils , defrosting , until you see the drain hole . Use hot water to help defrost the hole . Once water starts going thru the hole , use a small hose inserted into the hole , and blow thru , to remove any unseen debris in the drain line . Use an ALUMINUM or COPPER ( ground wire is good ) solid wire , 14-16 guage , with the insulation completely off , and insert one end into the drain hole as far as possible without any force . Wrap the other end about 1 1/2 to 2 turns , around the black rod (defrost heater) , above the hole . When refrig goes into defrost , the heat will transfer from the heater , to the wire , keeping the hole from freezing up again .

Leaks water on the floor from the freezer.this is a maytag.

check drain line inside freezer. There may be a problem with circuit board that controls the defroster. Most likely the drain line to the pan underneath is clogged. causing the defrosted water to back up into the freezer.

Jthe water from the defrost cycle doesn't drain into the pan underneath. It freezes up and runs into the bottm of freezer until it must be defrosted on the bottom only.

The defrost drain which is behind the evaporator wall becomes frozen over or blocked by debris. You must remove the back wall to get at the drain and thaw it or snake it with wire to free the clog. After its clear, wrap some copper wire around the defrost heater and drop a length of it into the drain hole. This will prevent it from freezing over again.

Why is my Samsung two-door fridge freezer leaking water into the bottom of the freezer compartment. What is the solution. I have defrosted it for 24 hours without success.

Hello there
You said you' ve defrosted it for 24 hours, that is good and it is the first step, Now clean out the drain system on the freezer side. The ice melts and become water it should drain out onto the drain pan underneath . But because the drain is plugged and the water can't running down the drain so it running out the drip pan onto the bottom of your freezer compartment. You may need to take out the back pannel on the freezer side to get to the drip pan below the freezing coil.

Hope this can help you to solve the problem.

I have a Maytag side by side and water is leaking on the floor and I have a big build of ice on the bottom of the freezer. Can you tell me how to fix it?

Unplug the refrigerator.
Remove the food and shelves from the freezer side.
Carefully break up and dispose of the visible ice. There is a drain pan on the lower rear of the freezer. Defrost the ice in this pan with a hair dryer.
Once the ice is out of the pan the drain hole that goes through the bottom of the pan must also be defrosted.
After the drain hole is defrosted pour a mixture of 1/4 cup bleach and 1 and 3/4 cups hot water through the drain hole.

Fridge leaking water supply off

The water is defrosted frost from the cold coils. Look for ice at the bottom of the freezer at the back wall. Carefully remove back panel. Most often the problem is that the drain hole to the pan underneath the fridge is blocked. and then it gets further blocked with ice as defrosted water cannot drain away. Clear carefully with a hairdryer, Clean drain hole with hot water and a turkey baster. Shoot water through to the pan below. If ice comes back in a few weeks you need to troubleshoot defrost heater circuit. Most common bad parts in order are defrost thermostat, defrost timer, fuses in defrost circuit which don't reset.

Water leak from Styrofoam insert of Kenmore 79202

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Water on bottom of freezer

most commercial freezers have a drain to the back of the compressor area where the condensate goes into a pan and is boiled off into the air by a loop of hot gas tubing in the pan or an electric heater in the pan. when it defrosts the ice on the coil melts and the water flows out . if the tubing gets plugged the water flows out of the pan and down into the bottom of the box where it refreezes on start of the next refrigeration cycle. clean and clear drain with a shop vac or air hose where water can flow out of pan under the evaporator coil when it defrosts. if you have a domestic residential freezer , most of these have no defrost and neeed to be shut down and manually defrosted every few years. if you leave the door ajar or it doesn't seal well ice builds up and can accumulate in the bottom as frost etc. it would be mosyt unusual for a residential box to have a defrost clock, drain and all, but possible and same rules apply. find the drain and clear with shop vac .
