The best way I can think of is to print to the printer using one PC printing locally to the IP directly and then set up the other computers to print to the shared printer on your machine. Then any jobs entering the queue will have the machine name or username of the PC submitting the job and you can set policies, usage, and other restrictions with GPedit. I think at that point you can even track the activity in the Windows event viewer.

Got my HP laser jet P1005 plugged into 1 PC prints fine. But 2nd PC is networked to it and it takes ages to print! How can I speed up send PC print job? Both PCs Only ever print single pages.

Well, that really depends upon how you are "networked". Obviously, the primary PC is USB 2.0 connected direct to the printer. When you send a print job, the PC merely starts the print job and sends it to the printer on the fly. The other PC must first spool the entire job, packet it up, send it to the network, then network sends it to the first PC, where it must unpacket it, and send it to the printer. This is definitely going to be slower than a direct connection. And if your network connections are wireless rather than wired, even longer.

How to fix 49.2fa7 error

Try again with out connecting network cable or usb cable . If the message does not come on, you have a bad job trying to print each time the printers signals the network it is ready. You need to delete the bad job. Sometimes you can keep the network cable disconnected until it comes to ready and then plug it in and keep hitting the cancel button in attempt to cancel the job, but most times you need to delete the job at the computer or server which is sending it.

My Hp office-jet Pro X576 printer is connected via a network and if l send a print job it displays printer error switch off machine and the printer restarts .if l use usd it works fine

I would ensure that you have the current firmware installed on the printer and make sure that you are sending the job via network with a correct driver. If you manually set the IP address on your computer and the printer you should be able to connect direct using a crossover cable, I do that in the shop all the time.

I'VE GOT MY PRINTER CONNECTED TO A ROUTER. iT PRINTS IF YOU PUT SOMETHING IN IT TO PRINT,BUT IT WILL NOT PRINT OFF THECOMPUTER?

Your router gives an IP address to the printer. But to be able to send the print job to the printer, the computer must know where to send the data (IP adress).
Try to let Windows look for network printers to get their IP address or retrieve the address yourself from the router and ask Windows to look for the printer at the specific port address.
Note You must install the printer as a network printer, not a local one connected to localhost.

I have 20 Zebra 170Xilll printers and the printers are on our network and for some reason the print speed is one speed no matter if I set the speed in the software or the printer to a faster speed. What...

if your software send the data+configuration from the printer direcly to the printer, need to change on the software.
If your software send just the job with the defult setings from the printer, ajust speed on the printer.
If your software send just the job ant tell to use setings from the driver, ajust setings on (advance menu) from the driver.

try removing the jetdirect card and sending something direct via the usb port. if this doesn't work then you may have an issue with the main pca.

Fs-3900 intermittently not printing

for FS-3900DN the latest firmware is the one what you have. BUT there is a separate update firmware for the Network Card !!

Check if you have installed the latest print driver in ALL computers and the OS updated with the latest patches.
Q1: The printing issue is consistent when you change computers ? IF yes THEN the issue is within the printer or the network.

Then:
Check if you have same issues when printing using the USB (not the network).
IF is printing OK when you use the USB but you got trouble using the network THEN something is wrong with the network printing so:
-> connect the printer straight to a PC/laptop using a crossover network cable that so you bypass the whole network (LAN) hardware.
--> IF is printing OK THEN the problem is within the network hardware(LAN) - you may try to pinpoint by replacing the network cable between the hub/router and the printer.
--> IF printing using the crossover cable is NOT OK then the problem is in the printer's network card. Check if the jack or the cable fit well into the printer or if the connector is not loose.

IF printing using USB is NOT OK then the problem may be into the printer. Reload the firmware engine and system + network card... it may help.
Q2: When you say: "fails to print unless it's powered OFF / ON" you mean the print job what you sent is waiting into the computer print spooler = the printer is being seen as NOT READY ? or the print job is just missing and you have to restart the printer and after that resend the print job ? ou can chack the printer stat by going to her IP address = open any internet browser and type the ip address. You should see a web page. Check the printer status before sending any print job.
