I have a nokia 6585 my dad gave me.it has all his info stored in it.can i erase everything and start fresh as if it was a brand new phone?

You can RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS

You can reset some of the menu settings to their original values. Data that you
have entered or downloaded is not deleted, for example, entries in your contacts
list are not affected.
  1. At the start screen, select Menu > Settings > Restore factory settings.
  2. Enter the security code (the default security code is 12345) and press OK.

The memory is full and I don't know how to fix it

What memory?
If the sim memory is full then get a backup device or use your computer to store more numbers.
If your memory stick is full, get another one or get a bigger one and back up the old files.
If you dont need the already stored data, use the phone or a card reader to delete all stored data. Then youd have a fresh memory space.
