Well, while waiting for the response I did some more troubleshooting. Put a different drive in the system and it started the boot up process without a blue screen. I reasonably sure the hard drive is shot.

It is because you have installed a wrong driver like sould/display and USB smart card most cases reported are when you install wrong com port driver.
Otherwise its a RAM problem. Please open your case and then clean the RAM. Remove any newly installed hardware and retry.

This problem is generally caused by driver conflicts, corrupted operating system files, hardware conflicts and software conflicts. Sometimes virus causes this. First check recent changes to your system, maybe software installation or hardware installation and uninstall them if you did so from the Safe Mode. Also scan the system using updated antivirus. You also need to clean all the hardware components if the above mentioned tips doesn't work. Good luck..

I don't think you ever had a blue screen because you can't get at safe mode, last safe mode or any type of mode to even attempt to fix it. How's someone to load a fix it program if you can't even get the cd drive starting?

Well, you may think that we don't ever face that kind of problem, but it's a daily experience for me, at least a computer having similar problem is deposited in our shop.

Anyway, try with another Memory (Ram) or Hard Disk, this will help you find out the culprit. If the problem still persists, install another Video Card and see if that helps or not. The last suspect could be the motherboard itself.

When i am trying to instaling win xp .getting a error message like stop 0x00000007B in a blue screen

hello Shameeralipk,

The most popular Blue Screen of Death error in Windows is the STOP 0x0000007B error, sometimes called the 0x7b error or the "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE" BSOD.

This BSOD (which is actually the common name for a STOP Error) could mean that there's a serious hardware problem with a hard drive controller, a driver issue, or even a boot sector virus.

thansk.

Dear, Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems. What you can do is if you have more than one memory modules, you can boot the system with single and see. If this is due to memory leakage issue, you can find it here

Won't boot

Here is the cause, and I think you will have to re-install the operating system. Not knowing your machine model number, I have no idea if the operating system recovery is imbedded in the hard drive or not.

If you receive a blue Dell line across the top of the screen during power up, press F11 to see if you can get into the recovery mode. If so, just follow the instructions.
