All hard disks will work with whatever OS you decide to use, the only limitation is that it has to be formatted to a file system supported by that OS.
This is a disk for laptops, so if you are replacing the disk of your laptop and reinstalling OSX you don't have to do anything extra - the format is performed automatically the install disk detects an empty hard disk as a target disk.

In that case you must format it following this procedure
    1. Go to Finder -> Application -> Utilities
    2. Double click for Disk Utility
    3. Select the external Hard Disk you wish to format at the left column
    4. Click on the Erase tab
    5. At the “Volume Format” select “MS-DOS File System” if you intend to use it both on PC's and Mac's or Mac OS Extended (Journaled) if you will use it only on your Mac
    6. Confirm to format your hard disk , Click on “Erase” button.
    7. Pop up window will ask to verify the erase procedure. Click the erase button again in the window to start the erase process and wait for it to finish.

Either ask a friend with a pc to format it for you in FAT32 file system or do the following commands

    1. open Disk Utility and select the drive device itself.
    2. click the "info" button and note the name of the "Disk Identifier" field.
    3. open Terminal and enter the following command
    diskutil eraseVolume HFS+ "NAME" "IDENTIFIER"
replacing "NAME" with the desired name of the drive, and "IDENTIFIER" with the drive's ID found in Disk Utility.

You should be able to plug a SATA connector cable in to it and plug that in to your desktop PC board and there is power cord adapters. I do it all the time when i am repairing them.

How to change a pcb board on a samsung hard drive

Remove the securing screws and gently unplug the ribbon cable. I do not advise doing this however, as even the same model of this drive may use a pcb board that is a different revision to yours

Well me cd dvd romdose not work well the drive dose but it dose not read my cds

Please check the connection inside maybe it is just loose. If that is SATA connection that is prone to disconnection but if that is IDE cable inside maybe cable loose contack. Try to open the PC and then pull and insert the cable firmly. Restart the computer.

Failure predicted on HM121HI, F1 to continue

Hi,

The error you're recieving is a fair warning that the hard drive is about to die, if it were a "replace engine" light on your dash you would know what to do. Time for a new drive. If there's any dat on the old drive you need you have already comprimised it by re-installing windows, if so STOP using it and let me know your Country, state, city... from a different computer and I will point you to a data recovery specailist. If it's just a workhorse or you have it backed up, buy a new drive, re-install on it and you're back in business.
