Question about Garden
Posted by Anonymous on
We mistakenly switched the two side panels on ours, and didn't realize it until everything was together except the lid. We have the DB9000 deck box, and though you posted this question months ago, I'm hoping we can help someone else with the same problem.
First, you'll notice that the sides are deformed, and that the tab midway down the side panel doesn't line up with the slot on the back (or front) panel.
The next steps are a bit tricky, and it helps if you have another pair of hands. You can see in this photo how the sides snap together with a hidden tab and slot:
Take a flat screwdriver, and stick it in the gap between the side panel (B or C) and the front or back panel (A or D), from the inside of the box (in this photo the box is upside down, i.e. the tabs which snap into the floor of the box are facing up). Take another flathead screwdriver, and gently (really gently, the plastic here is pretty thin, and you don't want to tear it) insert it in the space where the sides come together. Now, slowly and gently pry up with this screwdriver while pushing outwards with the other. It helps if you have someone to help you pull the panels apart. The goal is to get that hidden slot/tab to separate without breaking. We were lucky in that when we poppeI want to take apart my suncast deck box. First, remove the cover by unsnapping the hinges in the back. Next, remove the inside floor by simply pushing in from the bottom. Now comes the tricky part. Place the remaining four sides so that the bottom feet are facing you. You should see a tab in the post of each of the four feet. Start with one post and slide a flathead screwdriver between the tab and the connecting side. Lift the connecting side above the level of the wedged screwdriver and use force to pull the two sides apart. Repeat for the remaining 3 posts. Good luck!
