Look at the LED light next to the SMART/LEARN button on rear of the motor unit. You may need to remove a light lens cover in order to see it. If the light is flashing rapidly this means you have a stuck button on one of your remote controls. Take the batteries out of each remote control. When you remove the batteries from the bad remote, the light will stop flashing. This remote needs to be replaced.

If one of your neighbors remote controls is inadvertently programmed into your receiver, you door will open when their remote is activated. If this happens you will need to clear out your receiver and reprogram your remote controls. Press and hold the smart/learn button for 6 seconds or until you see the small LED light near the button turn itself off. If the above steps have been followed and the symptoms continue, there may be an electronic short in either the wall control button or the receiver logic board. In this case, remove the wall control wires from terminals 1 and 2 on the motor unit. Should the symptoms persist after the wires are removed, replace the receiver logic board. If the symptoms stop with the wall control wires removed from the motor unit, replace the wall control button, and the wires leading to the wall control button.

    Here is some additional info.

In most cases, when a garage
door opens or closes by itself, or when you find your door open, upon
returning home, the problem is due to a short somewhere. This short
is most likely to be in one of two places: either in one of your
transmitters or in the wall button or its wiring.

When there is a short in your garage door transmitter, you will
often find the garage door is up upon returning home, even though you
know you closed the door when you left the house. A short in your
transmitter causes a continues signal to be sent. As you are pulling
out of the driveway the garage door closes fully and appears to stop,
but as the carriage and arm run past the down limit and hits the
header bracket it reverses, and the door begins to open, just as you
start driving off down the road. You come home to find the garage
door is up, as if someone else had opened your door. The best thing
to do to troubleshoot the garage door problem is remove the batteries
from your transmitters and try operating the door from the wall
button. If the problem is intermittent, you may want to do this for a
day or two to eliminate the transmitters as the culprit.

If the problem persists, try removing the wall button wire at the
motor head to ensure it is not a short in the wire to the button,
then try operating the garage door with the transmitters only. If it
stops the problem, replace the wires and test the wall button. It is
    a process of elimination.

My remote sends a signal, the opener indicator flashes, but the door does not open?

The learn button is located on the garage door opener unit itself that hangs from the ceiling. If you follow the gray antenna up to the unit you will see a red/orange button on the unit. That is the learn button. When you push that button and amber LED will light up either above or next to the learn button. This indicates that the garage door opener is now ready to learn a new device. Press and hold the button you want programed on the garage door opener remote and release it. The garage door opener will click and the garage door opener light will go off and come back on (if the light bulbs are in working order). The amber LED will go out, repeat if you need to program anything else.

I have a Craftsman Model # 139.53664SRT that has worked great until recently. When I try to close the garage door by keypad or with remote, it will not allow me to do so unless I turn the light out once...

The first thing I would do is remove the light bulb from the socket and try the opener. I have a feeling the bulb itself is bad or there is some arcing in the socket. Try unplugging the opener and prying out on the center connector of the socket.

Unplug the opener and remove the light bulb. Use a small screwdriver or a pencil to pull out on the center contact in the socket. Replace the bulb and plug the opener in.

Champion Liftmaster Garage will not open or close. Just clicks

Pull the logic board and check for burnt or missing traces on the printed circuit. I would guess at an estimate of $125.00 but don't even know where you live.

Need to change the freqency on a lift master garage door

Chance are they set there remote when you were using yours. To reset your opener you need to clear all the codes on the back of your opener itself there is a square button purple or red depends on how old it is. Press and hold that button until the LCD light turns off. Press your remote to make sure it has stopped working. Then press the button again only for a sec until the light comes on and starts to flash then press your remote button. Repeat for each remote.

1.3HP CRAFTSMAN CHAMPION GARAGE DOOR OPENER-NEW IN 2004

Well sounds like its a pressure setting. you said you open the door by hand? Was it easy to do? Ask your self this can a 15 year old kid open it and close it? If so then it sounds like its a presure setting There should be two blue slots on your opener with numbers 1-9 says up and down force. Turn the up force towards the bigger number. Just a little bit. But before you do that as the other guy stated make sure that your cables and springs are working. Spring depending on your doors can be in three places but we going to assume you has the most common set up so look over the top of your door (with it closed) you should eb able to see a tube running across there. and somewhere in the in middle a set of spring look at the spring to make sure that you dont see any of the tube showing in the springs. Becare not to touch the spring as they are under a lot of stress.
