Trying to install a dvd and computer will not see it

Check the driver is receiving electricity from the Power Supply, check the Bios settings to see if the detction is set to automatic or manual and refresh it, make sure the driver cables are secure in place and you didn't miss any pins, also double check your settings on the drive that is sharing the cable for CS (cable select), Master or Slave, since can not be 2 master on same cable, or 2 slaves. if still nothing happend change the cabling that conects drive to motherboard for 1 you are 100% sure that works and follow the steps again... and if it is not fixed return the drive since is dead. Hope it helps.

I wont to play game in lan with my home frends bat my computer canot find a lan .the game is full . my net is with dinamic ip..what i can do?thanks

D-link router provides signals through cable wired connection where each persons computer shares signals from the only computer that has network services. For example, one of the computers that has the internet on which router is connected either has capacity to network several additional computers or not. Usually the server computer that has connections with ethernet cables makes sharing signals possible beyond dial up phone line networked cable conections. The routers splits signals between computers requesting connectivity only becomes possible when enough capacity exist to several computers. The type of network strutures makes the link possible. For example, D-link router should allow to network more than one computer else another router that makes signal expansion possible is prefered. Circumpectively, ascertain that the computer from which video game is installed has the expansive capacity either in cables connection ports, wire links where router becomes the location where each device derives resources.

Sharing cannon printer MP170

If you want to make your printer a Stand-alone device (no need to be connected to a computer, just directly to the router) you may want to look at getting a Print-Server.

But if you just want to share the printers, you will have to install the printer separately on both computers (since they use 2 diff drivers for the printer), then share it on the vista computer. at this point you should now be able to print on both machines

I have two computers that I want to share my cable internet connection. When connected directly to the modem the first computer conects to teh internet fine. But when I connect the computer to my Belkin...

Perhaps one of your ethernet cables is bad?

When everything is connected, the "WAN" light on your router should go on, as well as the lights for whatever network connections your are using for your computer.

Obviously the cable that you used to connect your computer directly to the modem is working, so try replacing the other one.

Limit or no conectivity problem

I understand that you are using the Windows Internet Connection Sharing to share your internet connection to your other computer.

If you don't have a router to share the connection then you are using Windows ICS connection.

When you enable ICS, the network adapter connected to the local area network is assigned a static IP address of 192.168.0.1.

You can check this site for more information
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/ics_xp

You can try to connect the two computers first without the internet connection.

Example : PC A 192.168.0.2
You can set the IP addresses manually, just set the tcp/ip properties and from that area you can set the IP address manually.

And for PC B 192.168.0.3
You dont need to set the ip address for the gateway and dns since you are just testing the connection of the two computer.

They should belong to the same workgroup example HOME and set the computer name to PC1 and PC2.

You can right click MY COMPUTER then select PROPERTIES then you will able to see the computer name.

To start the wizard
1.
Choose Control Panel from the Start menu.
2.
Click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Set up or change your home or small office network.

3 com hub tp4 home network setup failure

There are several possible problems here, and more information is needed to identify which one is causing trouble. First, are you using a high speed dsl or cable internet connection? ...or is your Internet connection a dial-up phone line? This will have a significant effect on how your cables should be connected between the hub and the computers. Windows typically defaults to a 169... address when it is not properly connected to a shared network connection.

Setting up my HOME network! HELP!!!

Sounds like something is not right with the sharing... Assuming that computer 1 (the computer with the printer) is sharing and everything is set correctly, I would change the workgroup name. Instead of using "MSHOME" use say some basic word like "example" or some other name.

Ironically for my workgroup here I call it "StarWars"

needless to say my printers and everything shares just perfect. When you use "MShome" there's restrictions on what XP professional and XP home machines see on the network. I changed the workgroup name and that solved that problem.

Be sure to put all computers on the same workgroup name that you pick. You can even choose your first name if you want.
