Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I have a behringer modle GMX112 amplifier. When I plugged it in smoke came out the back. Now I can get no sound when I plug in the chord. I can hear some static when I adjust the volumn. Is this an expensive repair? Can I do it myself?

Well the easy thing is that whatever is burnt up will be easy to spot and of course need replacing. So take the top off and see what you can see of it. That won't cost you anything. The problem is if the thing that has burnt up did so in a way you can't tell what it is! You will have a hell of a job finding out what it is. In which case you might as well let a repair shop do all the hard work! However if you can read the numbers of any damaged part(s). You can put them into google and find out what they cost etc. At least then you have the options of buying them yourself or working out what it might cost for fixing it assuming nothing else went!
