Question about Dryers

1 Answer

I've had a model DLG330RAW gas dryer for 5 years. About 2 weeks ago it started making a sound as if coins were in the barrel. It wasn't the clothes buttons, zippers, etc as it will still make the noise when drying towels. It drys the clothes just fine. It's just the "noise" problem. Thank you, Linda

Tis possible that cons have gotten stuck within the veins( tub paddles) of the dryer drum, if thats the case youlll be able to rotate the drum around by hand and actually hear them tumble around as you turn them around.if thats the case tou will need to unscrew the tub baffles from the outside of the drum remove debris and resecure.DISCONNECT POWER SUPPLY
first remove 2 5/16 screws holding the lower access panel. and behind that panel 2 more 5/16 screws. lift that panel foward and it will release from under the main lid(2 clips holdin it in). mark the 3 wiresd and disconnect the door switch.2 final 5/16 screws in either corner is holding the main lid assy down, remove them and your able to flip the main top back. you now have access to the outside of the drum all you need to do is rotate around find the screws holding baffles and clean them out

Replace the two small round black solenoids located on the gas valvle. I just did it last week. They come in a set and only cost me $26.50. Easiest fix I've done. I was all set to go out and buy a new dryer.

Gas dryer continues to run on the Auto cycle.

try to get the manual for the dryer you got and locate the moisture sensor if this sensor is bad what happen is that the automatic timer thinks that the clothes still wet and continues to dry once the sensor detects no moisture then it shut off the dryer normally is located behind the dryer on the exit line of the air duct and tested for conductivity and see if is good or not
