I have the same problem. I was playing socom last night and my console just shutdown. Red light was flashing, I hit the button to turn the power on, it came on for just a couple seconds then right back out. I can't even get the game disc out.

  • Sad PS3 fan Dec 15, 2008

i was playing COD4 when my world collapsed around me, The screen turned black and the playstation beeped at me three times. First thing came to my head was it over heated but as that ran through my head another thought its only been on for 25 seconds. so the only way for me to shut it off and see what happend was to hit the main switch, so i did. Red light on pressed the button and then i got the green light for about a second then YELLOW and back to flashing red. Its still dead to this day. thinking maybe power supply. i saw a youtube video were a guy put in a new power supply and it fixed the problem. going to try it myself soon.

I have a similar problem with my ps3. Whenever I power down without shutting it off from the switch in the back (i.e. the power light stays on, turning red), the next time I try to turn it on the power light will go green for 2-3 seconds, then turn yellow, beep 3 times, and turn back off; and I will have to flip the switch in the back off and then restart the system.

I have the same problem - anyone come up with any answers or recommendations yet?

  • Anonymous Dec 31, 2008

PS3 Green light only stays on for a few seconds and then powers off to a flashing red light.

  • jm62400 Jan 14, 2009

I have the same problem as the other guys. I called Sony and they want a flat rate of $149.00 plus tax to fix the problem. Anyone got a sure fire cheaper solution before I send those greedy bastards any more of my money?

How do I reset my SMC barricade g router?

hi Eric,

To Reset the newer Barricade Router, use the RESET button on the Router. It is found on the rear panel (except 7004ABR/7008ABR, where it is found in the front). It's a small pinhole blue button. Use a paperclip / pen / pencil to hold in. Reset can be done in following ways. If you find Power LED blinking, then it indicates a successful RESET......

Procedure 1 -
Unplug all the cables except the power cord.
While the Barricade is powered ON, Hold the RESET button for 30 seconds or as long as you find the Power LED blinks.

Procedure 2 -
1 - Unplug all the cables except the power cord.
2 - While the Barricade is powered ON, Hold the RESET button for 5 seconds.
3- While holding the RESET, turn OFF the power to the Router.
4- Continue to hold it for 5 seconds, then turn ON the power to the Router.
5- Wait for another 5 seconds and then release the RESET button.

Procedure 3 -
1 - Unplug all the cables except the power cord and Power ON the Router.
2 - Hold the RESET button for 3 seconds.
3 - Release the RESET button for 2 seconds.
4 - Continue Steps 2 and 3 for Four more times.

I cannot format the computer because the motherboards cd is gone, and the boot bios is blocked.

The CD is needed to install the drivers for the motherboard all the other utilities on it you can manage without. A getaround for you is to perform a backup your drivers onto a cd or USB memory stick and you can go ahead with your reformat.
