Question about Samsung HCN5529W 55" Rear Projection Television

Samsung hcn5529W hmdi input dispaly issue

I have a Samsung hcn5529W that has a blue "halo" around the right hand and top edges whenever I connect a device ot the HDMI port (when I pause and connect the same devie to a component port there is no halo). This is particularily noticable when the screen is dark.

Additionally, on all input, there is a blue halo whenever there is a whiteedge meeting a black edge. Has anyone ever seen this or know how to fix it?

"then try using RY able instead of HDMI input to test if its a cable problem"

What did you mean by "RY able"? I think there is a typo in there somewhere.

Also, to be clear, it is a DVI input, not an HDMI - I mis-typed in my original question.

Based on your recommendation, I will call Samsung to inquire, but I am confused why a screen issue would affect the image only on the DVI input.

This is a 55 inch screen.. I am currently looking at Samsung parts, and they have 3 differnet screens - the sun screen, the lenticular screen, and the frensel screen. Which do you belive it to be?

else this must be a screen issue.
please note down the part number from your service bulletin published by Samsung and get it replaced.

IF it is a 50" TV then here are the info you need

    50" Replacement Screen Info:

Part Name: ASSY MISC-SCREEN SVC; 50L3, DNP

    Part Number: BP91-01811A

The aforementioned part number is for the screen *assembly* (ie. both
halves) that comes with two screens taped together around the edge. The
replacement screen assembly must have a sticker on the upper left hand side
(when facing the viewing side) with a part number. The tech tell
this part number was for the *outside* half of the screen (viewing

    Outside Screen Part Number: BP67-00137A

The *old* screen also had a part number listed in the same place on the viewing side.

"OLD" Outside Screen Part Number: BP67-00153A

also adjust the DMD board to align the picture for overscan, and then go into the service menu and further tweak the Vertical and
Horizontal settings using the overscan test pattern in DVE.

NOTE: please dont attepmt to do this until you have prior knowledge of what you are doing. trying all these with out hands on experience will lead you to messing up with some big problem. even after this you want to try this then you will do at your own risk. we may not be held responsible.

    thank you

    good luck

Plasma screen is blue it has been taken off wall think something may have been touched/flicked

Blue screen means no input. First make sure the HMDI cable and the device you get your golf results from is properly sending the signal. After that, you can then make sure that the TV screen itself works right by using the remote to change volume and ensure that it the screen shows the volume up graphic display. Once you know that is in working order, make sure you are on the right input channel by looking at where you input is plugged in to and setting the TV to that input via the remote. You can repeatedly hit the input button to cycle through the inputs if you want to be sure. (there are 8 of them) The last thing you can try is assume that the input you are using is bad and switch to another. (Go from HMDI 1 to HMDI 3)

I have a similar issue with Samsung LN46N610. Red (and green to a lesser extent) text or graphics on light background creates something like a shadow or blurred edge. My PC is connected to HDTV via HDMI cable. I don't have this issue when I use Toshiba 46XV645U (Toshiba a different audio problem though) HDTV

Samsung HCN5529W 55in Rear Projection can't Perfect Focus

hello What you have is a convergence problem. There is 2 modules inside your set that aligns the colors to have the same geometry and superposed . It is a common problem in rear projection tvs ,
You don`t have to worry about your blue tube , i`m sure it is perfectly fine, it just needs to be aligned through the convergence circuit.
Most often the problem is with those convergence modules that are faulty and need to be replaced.
Hope this will help good luck
