For rock band, when the microphone is plugged in, use one of your controllers (ie, turn a controller on and connect it by holding down the Xbox center button on the controller), do this after you turn the game on, but before you choose any game modes... Once, done, chose your mode, and have fun!!!

The microphone does not have any buttons with it, that is why you need a controller to have it enabled

more or less.. hook up everything, and plug in a ps2 controller into the first port. From there, use the ps2 controller as the first person controller and continue with your game play..

Making the conroller the first person controller, while the microphone is plugged in, will make the singer first player, and drums/guitar second/third player. Any thing you need to choose for the microphone (ie hard, expert, etc...) will be done with the ps2 controller

I'm looking to connect a Marantz SR5001 to a Subwoofer, and there is currently no soundcoming through the sub.

On the SR series, you should find the setting for this in the setup menu on your remote. It will be easiest if you have a TV connected for video display. On the remote hit Amp -> Menu -> Speaker Setup -> Manual Setup. This should allow you to set the 'Subwoofer' setting to Yes. The subwoofer will need to be plugged in. If the setting cant be changed, try plugging in the Audassey microphone and run the calibration program which should detect the sub if its plugged in.

Is there a microphone built into the recorder and how do you get it to work

If your recorder has a microphone-in jack on it you can plug a mic into it directly and that will be recorded as the signal to whatever you're recording to. Your local Radio Shack will carry the plug converters you'll need if your microphone plug is either too large or too small for your mic-in jack.
Good luck! William

I have the same problem and it is not speaker wires, cables, or dumb remote codes (really, remote codes.) I'm taking mine in for repair, and not reliying on straw grasping, speculative solutions.

I am trying to use a microphone with the Insignia Receiver 5.1 Channel. I am plugging my microphone jack into the microphone set-up slot. I turn on the button but get no sound through speakers. What do I...

Check if the impedance of the microphone is the same of the microphone set-up slot. High impedances devices such as microphones have to match exactly between jack and input. Good Luck.

Microphone for my YAMAHA HTR-5440

Let me make this clear to you that your Yamaha does not support Microphone but the trick is you can still do it. All you need is a stereo jack to a RCA connector cable.Check this out http://www.mediacollege.com/audio/connection/jack-stereo-rca-2.html It is easily available in the market. The stereo jack will fit into your microphone and the RCA to your Amplifier/Reciever. Plug the RCA into CD/Tape input but not in the Phono n do your thing. Let me know if this works, coz I'm really curious.

My acer aspire 5920 is making alot of noise the built in microphone does not seem to turn off

ok i had the same problem up until today and i found a post on a site that really helped me out i had this problem for about two months and was very close the sending it into acers repair center but all it was, was a setting in the audio manager ok here is what you need to do go to control panel, then go to hardware and sound, and then go to manage audio devices under sound then go to recording then click on microphone and go to properties, then go to levels and you should see two settings microphone volume and and microphone boost if your microphone boost is set to +20 which it prolly is just slide it down to zero and wow your problem is fixed. Im not really sure what program might change this setting but acer should really check into it and your system shouldnt let programs change things such as this cause this is a very important setting for having a wonderful entertainment experience. well i hope this helps and all the credit here goes to original poster at http://wynddancer.livejournal.com/22092.html

I need help!!! my headset is buzzing lol

check the audio setting. If AUX is turned on instead of Microphone, it will cut out because its waiting for an input from another source.

make sure the LINE-IN isnt turned on or the S/pdif-in.

Only have on the ( PLAYBACK, WAVE, CD AUDIO, MIDI, and Microphone. And there not muted or turned down.

If its USB it may need drivers but they should have come on a CD with it.

Also make sure that if your using sound card, that its set up in the audio properties to be the audio renderer
