F1 code on display pad

When cooking, the electronic display started flashing, then went blank, then code F1 appeared and a beeping noise started. I reset the panel and the beeping stopped, the code disappeared, and the normal display of time and oven temperature came back on. The range burners work normally and the oven turns on, but I can not set the temperature other than the preset temp. of 350. The numbers on the touch pad no longer work.

My problem is a little different. The timer goes off at times when stove

is not being used, like in the middle of the night. F1 is displayed. Sometime it will not stop by using the clear button. I have to cut off

    at breaker box.

The display also shows Regen and it is flashing.

  • You have either a bad ERC (clock) or a bad touch pad.
    1. Disconnect power to stove
    2. Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
    3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire apx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
    4. Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
    5. Turn power back on to stove.
    6. Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
    7. If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
    8. If after apx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.
NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock as one part.
Here is the part to order.

All parts come with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Error code F1 indicates electronic control failure and is displayed due to electronic oven control failure and the only way to solve this problem is by replacing the control board which is bad. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

F3: Open or shorted sensor. The cancel key resets the control and stops the alarm. If fault is still present it will reactivate the alarm when the cook mode is chosen. Correction: Check sensor and wiring for shorted or open circuit.

GE oven functional code F1 appears.

Hello, I come across this problem quite often, The f1 error code does not always follow that it is a bad EOC (Electronic oven control) This could also be a problem with the touchpad. The way to figure which is bad is turn electric off, access the EOC and pull the wire harness/ribbon tape for the touch pad. Reassemble the range and switch power back on. If you are still getting the F1 it is the EOC..If the F1 clears then your problem is with the Touchpad. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!!! Mike
