Question about Philips GoGear HDD6330 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Philips HDD6330 - Dead?

My player will not turn on. It does not respond to either of the reset sequences, plugging it into the wall wart or plugging it into a usb port. Is it dead, or is there something else I can do to jumpstart it?

I can't get the screen to respond to anything. Help!

WARNING: this process will erase all songs off the GoGear.

Disconnect the GoGear from computer.
Turn the GoGear off.
Hold in the volume + button.
Reconnect the GoGear while holding in the volume + button.
Continue holding the volume + button.
After 5-50 seconds, Windows will pop-up a "Found New Hardware Wizard." - complete the wizard (BTW, you can take your hand ff the volume + button now).

Charger broke

There is a proprietary charger for the HDD6330, but it is no longer available through Philips. Try contacting Fox International or some third party seller for the original USB cord.

My phlips gogear will not turn even when i plug it in

try holding the up volume button and the power button until it powers up and see if that makes any difference for you.

if not the device may have a corrupt board as many other GoGear products similar to this one have the same problems

HDD6330 freezes with USB

Revert back to Windows Media Player 10, and don't use Vista - these are the minimum requirements for not messing up this player.

Reset the player, do Repair in the Philips Device Manager, and do the firmware upgrade firmware upgrade. There is nothing else you can do really. Reformatting generally doesn't help with this model.

Philips GoGear 30 GB HDD6330 Won't Turn on.

Try a soft reset by pressing and holding [VOL+] & [POWER]
whenever this happens, then try powering up again.

If this doesn't work, it could be corrupt firmware. Run the Philips Device Manager software (on the product CD). Select the Restore / Repair option and follow the on-screen prompts.

This will format the player and re-flash the firmware.

Note: ALL tracks will be deleted from the player.
