Question about Ecoquest Living Air Classic Air Purifier

Living Air Classic Electronic Air Purification System Model XL Serial C260814XL

Broke a blade on the fan while cleaning. I think I need a replacement fan. But, when I tried to place an order on your site for one, they kept telling me that my credit card was invalid. I think maybe the error was in my spacing the credit card numbers as it appears on the credit card. I have since been told that I should not have used any spaces. If I could be advised whether this is correct or not, and if I knew that my original order was void, then I could just reorder. Thank You in advance for your cooperation.

The problem is corrected, Thank You. I had spaced my numbers on my credit card, therefore it made it invalid. I found out about this, and re-ordered using the numbers with no spaces, and my order is placed and on it's way. Thank You very much for all your help. This is a terrific site for people with a problem. Very good service.

I have a Living Air XL-15 purifier which was taken apart for cleaning and repair. I am now trying to put it back together and have one part that I do not remember where it goes. It is a metal needle-like...

That's a needle-point ionizer, should thread into a little arm/fitting in the fairing forward/front of the fan blades. The red wire (high voltage) should attach to this little arm (probably with a spade terminal). It provides the high-power ionization used to attract particulate air pollutants out of the air.

If you e-mail to miller@healthyti.com, they will email cleaning instructions to you, free of charge. They are far too long to post here. These instructions are more detailed than the ones that Ecoquest supplies on their website.

Have a Living Air XL15 > everything works motor, fan, BUT .....

look through the front grill while its "on" you should see a glow from a neon lamp inside. If its not on chances are the circuit card is dead (should have about 350VDC plate voltage).
I have a used but good board if anyone needs one.

Fan blade broke

Remove the 4 screws on the front grill. Grasp the fan with both hands and pull the fan off. Kind of prying it out using your hands as levers works best. It may be stuck if you have never removed it for cleaning, which you should do, periodically. The new one slides on flush with the end of the shaft.

Fan replacement for Living Air Classic Purification System

Hello,

Since I'm forbidden to offer you one of my spares (per Fixya's terms & conditions), I'd go on the web and search for an EcoQuest dealer in your area - - they can get spare parts from the manufacturer.

Living Air XL 15, no ozone

My XL-15 had the same problem a few years ago. I had a broken wire on the fan, and the Ozone problem turned out to be a problem with the power supply. I had to send it in to have it repaired.

Fan is not turning on

The fan motor is probably locked up. You can either put a little oil to free it up (usually a temporary fix) or better yet replace the fan motor.
